Preview: Source Wrestling ‘Origins 2K20’

We’re less than a week away from our second crack at a full wrestling show on YouTube using the power of WWE 2K20. We’ve spent the last couple weeks creating, recording, uploading, tweaking, deleting, re-recording, to finally have the matches confirmed and ready to go. Source Wrestling ‘Origins 7’ was due to take place from Source Wrestling School on May 31st, so hopefully this goes some way into filling that void.

So let’s breakdown the matches announced and what we have in store for you.

Pre-show – Umar Mohammed vs Nathan North

Kicking off our line up, which will go out simultaneously on the Scottish Wrestling Network Facebook page and SWN Playlist YouTube channel, features Source Wrestling’s own Nathan North against ‘The Asian Sensation’ Umar Mohammed who trains at Fife Pro Wrestling Asylum. Two young wrestlers hoping to break out once the live shows return. Two charismatic individuals facing off to get ready for the main show.

The Working Men’s Club (Scott McManus & MATT DALY) vs Killer Xero (Alexander Darwin MacAllan & Xero)

Kicking off Source Wrestling ‘Origins 2K20’ properly on YouTube, two teams that just don’t like each other. ADM and Xero have plenty of reason to put the boots to McManus and DALY, even virtually, and will have a chance to get their hands on them in the video game world.

Three Way Dance – Brodie Adler vs Sammie Jo vs Emily Hayden

Brodie Adler recently made her debut, coming in against Source Wrestling regular Sammie Jo is a test in itself without also contending with ‘Wrestlebeech’ herself, #EmilyTwoBelts Emily Hayden in a three way dance. For those unfamiliar, a three way dance is an elimination match. It will be a tough one for Adler with Hayden and Sammie Jo having the more experience in real life, will that translate on 2K20.

The Kings of Catch (Aspen Faith & Lewis Girvan) w/Sammii Jayne vs The Govan Team (Ravie Davie & Zander)

In our first half main event, two experienced teams facing off. The Govan Team are firm favourites in Source Wrestling, especially when they head to Govan, which is no surprise. Facing them is one of the best teams in the country, accompanied by ‘The Main Event Empress’ Sammii Jayne, The Kings of Catch. This promises to be an epic encounter.

Ian Skinner vs Alex Webb

Another young gun battle, both lay claim to ‘number one meme boii’ on the interwebs. Ian Skinner and Alex Webb are two that have a huge upside, a match that would be entertaining in the real world but for now we’ll just have to make do with this version.

Five Man Source Scramble – Kai Williams-King vs Manlon vs Robert Wishart vs Daihlan Hendry vs Luke Aldridge

It wouldn’t be a Source show without a scramble match, featuring plenty familiar faces in Source Wrestling. It features all shapes, sizes, and styles to make this a chaotic encounter.

Source Championship – Grant McIvor (c) vs Drew Gulak

In our main event of the evening, Source Champion Grant McIvor goes up against the recently released WWE Superstar Drew Gulak in what promises to be a hard hitting encounter. A major threat to the Source Championship reign of Grant McIvor. Although he won’t technically be defending his physical championship, a win over Gulak is a technicality he can add to his expansive CV.

Pre-show starts at 7pm on Facebook and YouTube, before moving on to YouTube exclusively at 7.30pm.

Keep an eye on our Twitter @ScotWresNet for updates, sneak peaks and more goodness.

Subscribe to the SWN Playlist YouTube channel to see it first as the matches premiere here.

We will confirm our next show following the conclusion of Source Wrestling ‘Origins 2K20’.
