ICWFF

The following is a review of ICW: Fierce Females ‘Luke… Who’s Yer Da?’ by Pixie (@RatedRPixie):

The evening started with ICW commentary team Billy Kirkwood and Dr Sean David addressing the crowd and then introducing ICW:FF promoter Mikey Whiplash.

Mikey Whiplash addressed the fans explaining that April Davids had pulled out due to injury and was about to tell us what would happen with Viper’s match when he was interrupted by Fiona Fraser who told us that she thought April was afraid to face her, afraid perhaps that Fiona would be the one to cost her the championship opportunity. Viper then made her way to the ring and beat down Fiona Fraser.

Amazon Ayesha Ray entered through the crowd and pounced on an unsuspecting Viper who then after a brawl decided she would face Ayesha and it was deemed that this would be her semi-final match in place of April Davids. The match was a pretty slow starter but it was plain to see that Viper was on fire throughout, after hitting the Viper Bomb the win was secured and Viper advanced to the Final of the tournament.

It was then time for the second of the semi final matches Rhia O’Reiley vs Kay Lee Ray an action packed match from start to finish which included some sneaky tricks by both girls including Kay Lee Ray hiding under the ring skirt and Rhia hanging Kay Lee on the ropes. Both girls looked like strong contenders and it was unclear who would take the victory until Kay Lee Ray hit a swanton bomb and got the win. Viper came out and beat down Kay Lee Ray leaving her visibly hurt.

Next up it was the ICW debut of Leah Von Dutch who was up against Carmel. The crowd was instantly behind LVD and she was instantly over, this could be more to do with the fact that Carmel is pretty hated within ICW and claims to hate the company and its fans. An awesome match again in all and left both girls looking strong, after a few failed pinfall attempts Carmel secured the victory after a short DDT.

It was then time for another ICW debut in the form of “crazy” Mary Dobson who would take on Bete Noire. This proved to be a perfect example of female wrestling, a far cry from any “diva” division match up in any other company. This was a true deathmatch with weapons such as staplers, chairs, Singapore canes and metal chain being used throughout, Bete stapled a note to the tongue of Mary Dobson who then got a fan to pull it off before stapling the front cover of the newest issue of Insane! the ICW fanzine to Noire’s back all in all a terrific match of outstanding quality. Crazy Mary Dobson picked up the win after hitting a springboard moonsault whilst holding a chair and pinning Noire for the 3 count.

Blue Nikita another debutante in this show was next to enter the ring to face off against Erin Angel. The match was a slight slow starter but soon picked up pace with Blue Nikita giving chops to the chest of Angel as well as using the obvious size difference to a distinct advantage. Fans around the venue could be heard chanting “Great Khali” at the German newcomer but she took it all in her stride and proved to be the powerhouse that we were told about. Angel picked up the win after what was quite an enjoyable match.

6 person tag team match – Owens twins, with sakura lily vs Kristy loveign, Sara, and Lisa fury accompanied by James R Kennedy.

The match got off to a great start with Lisa Fury and Sara dominating Sakura Lily it proved to be a fun filled match and the fans were really getting behind the twins and Sakura Lily some hard hitting action which resulted in a win for the team of the Owens twins and Sakura Lily much to the delight of the crowd. After the match James R Kennedy put down Kirsty Loveign and she was left looking dejected while the crowd chanted for her to “f**K him up” but she didn’t do anything and left looking dejected following him with her tail between her legs.

Next it was time for the Main Event the final of the Fierce Females championship tournament between Kay Lee Ray and Viper. Kay Lee approached the ring visibly in pain after being beat down by Viper earlier in the night, she looked to be really struggling to walk and even stand but Viper, unforgiving as always was relentless and started really beating into Kay Lee Ray. The match was action packed, brawling into the crowd happened before too long and then both girls climbed the stairs to the balcony area where Kay Lee was pushed over and was dangling over the crowd below. Viper made her way back down and stood taunting Kay Lee who then jumped from the balcony onto a waiting Viper more brawling ensued before action returned to the ring where Kay Lee Ray picked up the win and was crowned the first Fierce Females Champion!

Overall this show was action packed from start to finish and proved that Fierce Females just the same as ICW shouldn’t be missed!

I agree with what the girls said last night, everywhere you look you have “Divas” or “knockouts” basically Barbie’s with a script of how to shake their arses the right way, but the girls on display at this show couldn’t be further from that. Those girls can truly kick some arse and they know how to look good doing it
