To start off, this was the first Wrestlezone event I had attended since Aberdeen Anarchy last year and after the event I couldn’t wait to get to more.
Jack Jester def. Sonjay Dutt
Jester was dominant in this match. Really great opener. Jester held the ropes when countering a sunset flip to win. Both guys were on top form. Jester is probably one of the best in the country in my opinion.
Team Malice def. Team Crusher
This 12 man tag was crazy. Bodies everywhere. Stories being told between Thunder Buddies and The Hotshots as they’re currently at odds. Brawling everywhere with Alan Sterling picking up the win for his team. There was a great moment with William Sterling being tagged in opposing his brother Alan. William refused to fight his brother and tagged out again. Among the craziness there was some great action.
Grado def. Jay Lethal & Zack Dynamite
Lots of comedy spots here as you would expect. There was a worm-off, Grado slapped the back of Jay Lethals head and blamed Dynamite. As they pushed back and forth Grado stripped referee Mikey Innes of his ref shirt and began reffing the match himself. Lethal rolled up Dynamite for a three count. After the shenanigans, the match started. Great stuff with Grado outsmarting Lethal to get the win. Grado begged Lethal to go up for a moonsault, as Lethal went up top, Grado sneaked the pin on Dynamite for the three count.
Grado is now facing Scotty 2 Hotty at the Beach Ballroom in May!
Post-match everyone hugged it out and danced in the ring.
Mr Paterson def. Johnny Lions
A personal rivalry coming to a head. Mr P was very quick, catching Lions with roll ups and quick offence. Lions was looking in top shape and these two were very back and forth. Mr P caught Lions with a quick pin and nabbed himself a Wrestlezone contract. The Northern Hotel went crazy when the three count was made.
Len Ironside then did the raffle (I didn’t win), Aspen Faith interrupted Ironside and challenged him to a match at Aberdeen Anarchy. Ironside refused till Faith chewed him out calling him a coward. Ironside accepted before being leathered by Faith. Security jumped in to remove Faith. So intense.
Regal Rumble time!
Jack Jester wins the Regal Rumble
Trying to keep up with this was difficult but there were some great spots. Ross McTavish made Alan Sterling tap out again before eliminating him. The Hotshots and Thunder Buddies continued their friction. Aspen Faith entered, William Sterling blocked James Midas while the rest of the guys in the ring chucked out Faith in near record time. Kaden Garrett hit the best spear I’ve seen in a long time, can’t wait to see more of this guy. Jester chucked out Grado quickly much to the crowds annoyance. Final three were Jay Lethal, Jack Jester and Mr Malice. In a shocking moment, Mr Malice eliminated Jay Lethal before Jester dispatched Mr Malice to win the Regal Rumble.
Crusher Craib came out for a stare down and a huge pull apart brawl occurred with the whole roster coming out to drag them apart. Great build to Aberdeen Anarchy.
Overall I loved this show, all the matches had a story to get across and they all did it to perfection.
