30-Minute Iron Man Match: Joe Coffey vs Jack Gallagher
Joe Coffey issued the Iron Man challenge for anyone to take up his offer and as the fans looked to the ramp, to see who answered him, that man would be Jack Gallagher.
The two men soaked up the atmosphere and readied themselves for the battle ahead of them. Locking up in a cotton-elbow tie-up, neither man was willing to let go and they dragged each other out to the ring then back in still locked the hold.
Once the two men released the hold, both treated the fans to a wrestling educational lesson, with Gallagher using an armbar leading into a wristlock while Coffey would seize in a headlock turning into a headscissors.
As Coffey tried to recover from a leglock, Gallagher wrapped Coffey in a self made crab, meaning he couldn’t escape and vulnerable to Gallagher’s kicks. Gallagher stepped back and overseen what he achieved but this only brought fury from Coffey who struck with a hard slap to the face, Gallagher retaliated with a chickenwing causing the ‘Iron Man’ to almost tap.
Coffey wasn’t beaten as he relied on his strength and power to attempt to bully his opponent by punishing his back, with hard irish whips into the turnbuckle then followed by a splash and clotheslines.
The breathtaking match drew to a close when Coffey hit three enziguri’s to gain a near fall and then hitting an alabama slam. Gallagher was down but recovered to launch himself from the top turnbuckle to connect with the diving headbutt for a near-fall.
With the countdown on and the time limit drawing near it would be Coffey gaining the win with three seconds to go after smashing his opponent with the Lariat clothesline.
Afterwards, Coffey took the microphone, after embracing Gallagher for the outstanding match they just had and said exactly what every ICW fan was thinking about that match.
“If that ain’t wrestling I dont know what is! What’s next?! Barramania!” – Joe Coffey
ICW Heavyweight Championship:(Champion) Drew Galloway vs (Challenger) Chris Renfrew
A match a year in the making after Chris Renfrew won the Square Go match last year and what followed was a continuous amount of teasing that he would cash it in anytime but tonight was the night everything would be decided.
From the beginning of the match Renfrew and Divers stood awaiting the Champion. Then MacIntyre arrived through the crowd and destroyed Divers with a chair to the back, signalling to the Challenger, it will be one on one in this match.
The two exchanged punches and wasn’t long before the feud went to the floor as MacIntyre struck the voice of the NAK’s head on the bar and then the two battled among the fans, as the duo climbed to the stage it would be Renfrew who would crash through two sets of tables set up by both men earlier on as the crowd chanted, “This is awesome!”
They made there way back to the ring and MacIntyre was in control as he connected with the big boot to the Challenger getting a near-fall.
Renfrew recovered and launched a hard hitting attack on the Champion, connecting with a double stomp to the head and then he focused on the left leg with stiff kicks and a chopblock
Renfrew managed to control the fight against the Champion with a low blow, a double axe-handle from the top turnbuckle and even resorted to biting his face.
The Champion fought back when he brought a chair back into the ring and beat Renfrew with it across the back and then tried to hit him across the face with it off the second turnbuckle only to be caught with the cutter for a near-fall.
The near-falls continued to surprise the fans in attendance, both men traded them after Renfrew hit his Cutter again and MacIntyre hit his finisher but it was until the Champion excuted his finisher again this time landing Renfrew on the chair allowing him the retain his Title after getting the pinfall victory.
Afterwards MacIntyre took the microphone as Renfrew sat dejected in the ring as he cut this promo, “Chris Renfrew is legit! Chris Renfrew is a superstar! fuck it, Chris Renfrew is a professional wrestler!”
Then the crowd erupted as Renfrew shook the hand of the Champion before walking up the ramp and MacIntyre stood in the ring realising that Renfrew was more than just the voice of NAK but one of the best UK wrestlers around.
Steel Cage: BT Gunn vs Wolfgang
The deeply personal emotions of both men going into this match were enough to make this a dangerous bout but with the addition of the Steel Cage fans knew this was going to be pushed to new levels of brutality.
Right from the start as BT Gunn sat ontop of the cage challenging Wolfgang to join him, this was going to be nonstop action as Wolfgang climbed up the cage to battle, and that they did as the two punched each other hard. I t was Gang with the advantage as Gunn fell to the ring and was then hit with a double axehandle from the second rope.
The two continued there assault on each other as they exchanged chops with every sound making the crowd wince.
In one of the dramatic stunts of not just the match but the night as Gunn attempted a swanton drop from top of cage only for Gang to move and then capitalise on the mistake with a back suplex from top turnbuckle to put the match firmly in his corner.
As Gunn was lay on the canvas looking beaten, Gang pulled a chain from the turnbuckle only to throw it away and claimed to the top of the cage to produce a dog collar chain. While managing to place it in Gunn, his opponent awoken but in remorseless fashion used his elbows to the back of the neck to make sure it stayed on.
Gunn got back into the match as he struck Gang hard with the chair to the head and then with the chain around his knuckles struck again to leave as Gang laying on the floor. Gunn then tried to leave the ring but couldn’t escape because of the dog collar round his throat and remainder of chain laying in the ring allowing Gang to grab it but in doing so ended up hanging Gunn until he was able to grab the cage.
After Gunn was dragged back into the ring, the two had a blistering exchange as they traded closefist punches again, it was then Gunn with a thrust kick and Gang with a spear allowing Gang to climb over the top of the cage but as he was ready to drop to the floor, he stopped and climbed back to the top of the cage then flew off the top and connected with the move of the night, a swanton to have the crowd chanting “Holy Shit!”
The finale was set up as Gunn who had his foot tied with the cage and the chain was helpless to watch a bloody Gang climb over the cage and drop to the floor connecting with an elbow as his feet touched the floor to give him a deserved and exhausting win to the cheers of the fans.
Next it was Mark Dallas and Chris Toal who made there way to the ring. They thanked the fans for there support and Dallas promised by the end of this year ICW would have a TV deal but in doing so he would have take a step back meaning someone would have to replace him. That man would be not Chris Toal, much to his disappointment but the man who has done an amazing job as G.M on Spacebaws, Red Lightning.
30-Man Annual Square Go Match
Drawing numbers #1 and #2 were DCT and Viper. The two battled and Viper looked to be getting the better of the co-holder of the Tag Team Titles until #3 Coach Trip joined the fray, and the battle resembled a handicap match. Viper took a beating until she managed to fight back with a double clothesline to turn the tide. Then #5 E.G Mackie arrived and made an immediate impact by spraying mist in the face of DCT. Mackie’s partner in crime, #6 Nathan Black arrived and then the two cleared the ring leaving themselves awaiting the next competitor.
#8 Lou King Sharp arrived from the crowd knowing that he was walking into a lionsden blindsided Mackie and Black then eliminating them both drawing cheers from the crowd until, both despite losing entered back in the ring and Black punished Sharp with three chokeslams before being made to leave by David the Beloved.
As Sharp tried to overcome the onslaught #9 Jackie Polo arrived and continued the beatdown until, Lionheart arrived, just standing on the ramp watching, the crowd shouted for the two to engage and Polo became distracted. Taking advantage, Sharp eliminated Polo and Lionheart had to be pulled apart from his opponent at Barra-mania by security.
To the shock of many of the fans, Sharp stood tall, tired but ready from the next wrestler and it was #10 Carmel Jacob. The Pipe-bomb Princess assaulted Sharp and continued to beat him down until #11 Layla Rose arrived. As Rose entered the Rumble within seconds she began to own the ring, beating Sharp and Jacob down until, Rose and Jacob looked to attempt to throw each other out and again taking advantage was Sharp throwing them both out leaving him the only one in ring, again.
As the countdown ended it was #12 Jack Gallagher, the cocky Sharp hit him with a disrespectful slap to the face and from there Gallagher gave Sharp a grappling lesson in wrestling. The fans lit up when Zero-G Champion, #13 Kenny Williams arrived and #14 Solar hit the ring as they both demonstrated the high flying and quickness that has helped them gain such success in ICW.
The tag team specialists The Gatecrashers drew #15 Christopher Saynt & #16 Dave Conrand, both men started dismantling the other four in the ring and eliminating Solar but as the match looked to be in there grasp, #17 Mikey Whiplash arrived.
Whiplash showed why he is one of the most destructive forces in ICW, as he disposed of The Gatecrashers in quick succession but his dominance came to an abrupt halt as the screens played an old video of him in the background that gave #18 Lewis Girvan his chance to eliminate the former ICW Champion.
The Wee Man returned to introduce the awesome #19 Davie Blaze and #20 Kid Fite soon followed, but what came next had fans worried for Fite’s career as he came off the second turnbuckle to hit Girvan with a double axe-handle, he collapsed to the ground clutching his knee, Williams and Blaze rushed to see if he was okay. As medics rushed to ringside. Fite appeared to be forced to stay at ringside due to the damage to the leg.
But then the surprise entrant, #21 Sha Samuels hit the ring and no one was safe as he beat everyone with his belt, as he stood tall, he was joined by stablemate #22 Timm Wylie and the two began to throw out Sharp, Blaze and anyone that appeared to move. The fans cheered as #23 Martin Kirby rushed to the ring appearing to battle the duo, until much to the fans shock, he joined them. The trio then tried to recruit Gallagher until he said no with his fists but paid the price with elimination. #24 Grado was next and looked to be the man to stop the trio as they beat down Williams.
As an injured Fite returned into the ring, the battlelines were drawn, Grado, Kenny Williams and Kid Fite versus Martin Kirby, Sha Samuels and Timm Wylie until, Fite assaulted his friends, it was a set-up all along, the injury and the alliance with Grado was a trap.
As the four men beat down Williams and Grado, the fan favourite, Grado was tossed to the floor with Samuels and Wylie eliminating themselves as they continued the beatdown. #25 Dickie Divers was the next man drawn and was in no hurry to join the match and decided to help commentate until The Wee Man returned to introduce #27 Stevie Boy to the match armed with a saucepan.
As the two fought to the ring, the tide had turned in the side of the fan favourites as #26 Joe Hendry helped Williams in gaining the advantage. The match continued to fill up with the arrival of #28 Mark Coffey and #29 Damo O’Connor armed with a chair.
O’Connor was clearly on a mission to destroy as he got rid of Stevie, Coffey and Williams. He was only slowed down by Hendry who in an incredible feat of strength managed a overhead throw and then DDT. But it then appeared that Fife and Kirby had recruited O’Connor to win the match for there alliance and left the ring.
As Hendry was at the mercy of O’Connor and #30 Bobby Roberts was on his way to the ring until a rampaging Renfrew hellbent on revenge attacked and the phrase “Card subject to Change!” was yelled. With Hendry thrown out, it was down to Divers, O’Connor and Renfrew. All three men engaged in a three-way scrap to gain the advantage as the crowd wanted Renfrew to repeat his feat of last year, but as suddenly as O’Connor was out of the match Renfrew appeared calm and told Divers to leave.
The fan’s almost believed he would as looked to step over the ropes but then returned and said No. Divers and Renfrew fought to gain an advantage as both wanted the win but with the shock to the crowd and Renfrew himself, Dickie Divers won the 2015 Square Go match.
