The PBW Academy schools are the official schools for Premier British Wrestling and are recognised by Pro Wrestling Elite, Insane Championship Wrestling, British Championship Wrestling, Scottish School Of Wrestling & All Star Wrestling.

Coatbridge was the town chosen to host the fourth PBW Academy Attack event. The show boasted talent ranging from experienced wrestlers who have participated in promotions across the country to trainees who made there in-ring débuts on this night.

Aaron Echo vs Tam ‘The Ram’ McGill

This was a very competitive bout seeing both men demonstrating there contrast in styles, with McGill using his power and strength while Echo used his speed and aggression to counteract his opponent.

Throughout the bout, Echo antagonised the fans that in-turn gave more support for McGill who appeared to become more energised with there interaction even striking with a standing powerbomb, but despite his best efforts, Echo gained the win to the disappointment of the crowd.

Lucy Cole, Taylor Bellando & Tony Martyns vs Emily Hayden, Jonathan Richards & Ciaran Class

Cole, Bellando and Martyns produced some fantastic and fluid tag team moves in this bout, it was clear to see that they have used there recent matches in PBW and BCW to there full advantage.  Richards and Class excelled in several aspects of this match, with both demonstrating brilliant heel aspects to there characters as well as portraying themselves as imposing figures in the ring. Hayden, to her credit appeared to be channelling her inner Nikki Storm as her arrogance was in full display every time the situation called for it.

All six trainees produced a well worked good tag team bout with all members of the match proving to be entertaining in character as well as using there wrestling ability, but there would only be one team that would be triumphant and it would be the fan favourites, Cole, Bellando and Martyns.

Craig Damian & David Krycek vs Lucha DS & Eddie Sideburns

All four men produced a fantastic tag team bout to entertain the crowd. The bout kicked off at a furious pace with Damian and Krycek isolating Sideburns and continued to punish the man who would normally been seen in the referee uniform. But Sideburns wouldn’t be beaten easily, despite being overpowered he managed to connect with a reverse DDT on Damian to keep the match alive. Lucha (who is soon to be seen on Ninja Warrior UK) continued to dazzle his opposition with his high-flying offensive to keep Damian and Krycek at a stalemate.

However, the match came to a stunning end when both Lucha connected with a victory roll to get the pinfall on Krycek so surprise the fans with the win.

Switch, Donnie-T & Saqib Ali vs Hal Rayner, Kyle Turner & Tyler Jax

Next was another bout that once again balanced experienced with debutant wrestlers to produce an entertaining match up.  All three debutants, Rayner, Turner and Jax showed tremendous talent in this match against there formidable opponents.

The sinister Switch appeared to take pleasure in punishing his opponents as made every move more devastating than the last. As destructive as Switch’s attacks were, his tag team partners Donnie-T and Ali continued to mock and press on the offensive the fan favourites.

Showing heart and passion, Rayner, Turner and Jax fought back to demonstrate that they wouldn’t give up against the odds and kept fighting until the experience of the opposition proved to be the difference.

Owen Jakks vs John Trettan

These two young debutants certainly produced a fine contest, as many of the high-flying and quick paced manoeuvres excited the crowd and was a contender for match of the night.

Jakks was the aggressor throughout the match as both battled and completed a barrage of moves that wouldn’t have looked out of place in a main event. The two fought hard and told a great storyline in the ring.

Both were debutants in the ring and on this basis, it’s an incredible thought that the two were able to complete a match to the standard that it was, excellent.  Even though Jakks won this match, a rematch should be due as if the two were given another chance to battle again, who knows what they could come up with.

Davey Blaze, TJ Rage & Krieger vs Kenny Williams, JD Bravo & Alex Draven

The team of Blaze, Rage and Krieger oozed arrogance as the made there way to the ring and continued to mock the opposing team as when all six were ready to do battle.

This match belonged to Bravo, Draven and Krieger who shined throughout and didn’t look out of place mixing with Blaze, Rage and Williams who have travelled all over the world.

The team of Blaze, Rage and Krieger punished there opponents as they used their size to maintain control of the match, but the tide changed as soon as Williams entered the fray and then Bravo & Draven followed suit to help take control of the bout.

From there, the match was a tour de force with all men not stopping but it would be Williams that would get the victory for his team

This was a great night, not just for the trainees who made there mark in the ring, but for the fans who enjoyed the night, that they were treated to entertaining matches and for the trainers, who can take pride that the excellent knowledge that they are providing are  guiding the next stars of Scottish Wrestling.
