It is crazy where wrestling can take you. Wrestling has seen me wrestle at carnivals, computer game launches, birthday parties, festivals and plenty of rainy gala days, as well as the regular town shows. I doubt that I would ever have seen the Scottish Highlands and various other places if it was not for wrestling. This last series of shows saw me visit somewhere new (Portree) and visit familiar stomping grounds (Kirkcaldy and High Valleyfield).
The Friday show was in Portree, a small town on the Isle Of Skye and a very long way away from home. Despite the fact I was driving, I witnessed lots of glorious scenery and picturesque views along the way which you have to see to believe. The show itself was good, with a receptive and energetic audience and me facing off with a familiar foe in Mike Musso, before being thrust into an impromptu tag match with me and Johnny Lions facing Kevin Williams and Jason Reed, with me being on the losing end of both of those matches. Bah.

The journey from Portree felt so long at times it was unreal. I eventually got home at 4:30am before being up early to set up for the ‘Seven Deadly Sins’ event in Kirkcaldy. No rest for the weary! I was eliminated from the battle royale by Nathan Reynolds and then lost to the eventual winner Joe Coffey in the first round, the second year in a row where I lost to the eventual winner of this specific tournament. I will admit to being a bit rusty, but it was good to shake off some of that rust and witness the reaction of some of the venue staff when it turned out some chairs had been destroyed by Joe Coffey and James Scott in the tournament final!

With Kirkcaldy being an afternoon show, I was home at a reasonable time and was so zonked I ended up in bed by 2200 hours and slept like a hibernating bear until 0730 hours the next morning. I felt a lot better having caught up on some sleep and travelled to the Sunday show with The Very Good Mister Euan G Mackie (with ourselves being arguably the greatest unofficial tag team in W3L today).
The Sunday show took place in High Valleyfield and opened with me hosting The House Of Smith and the contract signing for the W3L Championship match at Wrestlution X in Musselburgh, which will see Joe Coffey face current champion Joe E Legend. Both men had several things to say to each other, before them each signing the contract and Coffey sent an almighty message to Legend at the end. There is no doubt this edition of The House Of Smith will be available on www.w3lnetwork.com in the foreseeable future.

Due to injury, Liam Thomson was replaced by Kevin Williams in this match and despite introducing some new moves into my repertoire, such as a revised version of the God Save The Queen Neckbreaker and The Human Contradiction (Flying KENTA/Daniel Bryan knee), I ended up losing to the leader of The Gamer Club after he retrieved the Scottish flag. Once the show was done, the show equipment was taken back to W3L HQ and after that and an underwhelming fast food meal, that was me home.
Next week will see W3L in Penicuik on the Thursday, which will feature a potential MOTY candidate in Joe Coffey vs Danny Boy Rodgers, before the Northern Tour of Ullapool, Wick, Elgin and Dingwall takes place. I have been speaking to a very anxious Bulgarian Baker recently, who was concerned about being allowed in the country due to the result of the EU referendum (I voted remain out of respect for the Baker), but I have assured him that everything will be fine and for him to advise the authorities that he is going to Scotland to visit his friend Lucian Maynard Smith. Concerns in regards to Bozidar aside, I am looking forward to my fourth Northern Tour with W3L, which is a tiring, but fulfilling and enjoyable experience also. Tickets for these shows are available at www.w3lwrestling.com. You can also message me for a cheeky discount. Good day.
