On September 9th, current WWE United Kingdom Champion Pete Dunne will be making his way up North to the Northern Hotel in Aberdeen for WrestleZone’s Battle of the Nations event. But who will he face?
Every year the Battle of the Nations match takes place when a representative from Scotland faces an opponent that represents England. It would be no surprise if Pete Dunne makes up the English half of the equation. So let’s take some wild stabs in the dark as to who could face ‘The Bruiserweight’.
Aspen Faith
First name that springs to mind for this match is the current WrestleZone Tri-Counties Champion Aspen Faith. The King of Catch is arguably the best wrestler on the WrestleZone roster and a clash with a guy that represents the best of the United Kingdom would be a match made in heaven. If either title is on the line it would just add another colossal stipulation to the match.
Johnny Lions
The experienced and tenacious Johnny Lions would provide a test for Pete Dunne, as someone that has a wealth of experience. Lions is no stranger to the Battle of the Nations match itself having lost the last two to Doug Williams and Andy Wild respectively. Maybe third time lucky for the tenacious one.
Shawn Johnson
The current Undisputed WrestleZone Champion Shawn Johnson should have Richard R Russell working overtime to get this money match. Imagine having the Undisputed WrestleZone Champion against the WWE United Kingdom Champion? Johnson is confident in his own abilities and going toe to toe with Pete Dunne would provide a big challenge to the man at the top of the WrestleZone mountain.
Zach Dynamite
Dynamite has been putting in impressive showings and would certainly provide a great match for those in attendance in the Northern Hotel. After coming up short at Aberdeen Anarchy to become the first event Tri-Counties Champion, a strong showing would go some way into putting him in line for a title shot sooner than later.
Lewis Girvan
Another dream match, Girvan excelled in WrestleZone with his series of matches with Aspen Faith and a return to take on Pete Dunne would be another phenomenal match up in WrestleZone history.
So there are five picks to face Pete Dunne on September 9th, who would you pick?
