This past Saturday, WrestleZone returned to the Danestone Community Centre in Aberdeen for Christmas Chaos. As they prepared to end off a successful 2017, management put together one of the best shows they’ve produced. What went down at the event? Let’s take a look!
5. Mr P Reclaims His Flag
As we head towards the new year, WrestleZone management hope to end some of the ongoing rivalries to get a fresh start. One of those is Mr P vs Nathan North. After North had the help of manager Jeeves Winchester, Mr P was given a Handicap Match against both men at Christmas Chaos. Winchester remained on the apron for the majority of the contest, but when he was eventually tagged in, P took full advantage of the easy opposition. Locking in a sharpshooter, P managed to pick up the win as Jeeves immediately tapped out. Not Vintage.
4. Tri-Counties Triumph
Kicking off the final show of the year was Zach Dynamite putting his Tri-Counties Championship on the line against Aspen Faith, Bryan Tucker and Lou King Sharp. All four men wanted to head into 2018 as the champion, with dives off the ropes and down to ringside all around. A huge Tower of Doom spot took everyone out, before LKS laid Aspen out with a Slick Kick before being taken out himself by a jumping knee that allowed Dynamite to hang on to the title.
3. A New Queen?
The second half kicked off with women’s action as the self-proclaimed “Queen of WrestleZone” Sammii Jayne faced off with the debuting Kasey. An athletic showing was put on between the two, with the pair trading rollups early on. The Irish native used her vicious knee strikes to down The Queen, but Sammii used her power to fight back with suplexes. Eventually, it was a sitout powerbomb that allowed Jayne to pick up the victory. Despite being unsuccessful on this night, it’s fair to say this won’t be the last we see of Kasey in WrestleZone.
2. Three-Time Champs
The first half main event saw The Sterling Brothers and The Rejected once again facing off for the Tag Team Championships, this time in a Christmas Brawl which would be the final time these teams would go head to head. With no disqualifications in the match, all four men used anything and everything in sight to wear each other down. Steel chairs, sledges, Christmas trees, baubles and the most devastating weapon of all, a packet of cookies. With Alan and William on the verge of a championship retention, Scotty Swift’s music played but he was nowhere to be seen. This allowed Chris Archer to take out William, before Mikkey Vago slammed Alan through a steel chair for the three count to make The Rejected three-time Tag Team Champions.
1. A Swift Return
The main event saw Crusher Craib challenging Damien for his Undisputed Championship. After a brawl that went all over the Danestone Community Centre, The Creator of Carnage was victorious by count out, meaning Damien remained the champion. As soon as the bell rang, Shawn Johnson and The Sterling Brothers entered to join in on the beatdown on The Revolutionary. Sterling Oil’s attack was halted by the arrival of four Santas, but they were also taken out. However, one of them soon unmasked to reveal himself to be the returning Scotty Swift who took out Shawn, Alan and William before coming face to face with Craib, the man who put him on the shelf in September. The Red Haired Warrior went to to town on Sterling Oil’s monster, clearing him from the ring as the fans were ecstatic to see him back.
What a way to end the year. With Scotty Swift back in the fray, who knows what could happen. The next time you can see the stars of WrestleZone in action is on January 20th at Aberdeen’s Summerhill Hotel for Summerhill Showdown 2018!
