After the WWE Superstar Shake Up this past Monday and Tuesday the RAW and Smackdown Live rosters have gotten a little insane.
Starting off with RAW, former ICW World Heavyweight Champion Drew McIntyre (Galloway) returned to the roster following a stint in NXT where he won the NXT Heavyweight Championship, he had been inactive while rehabbing an injury suffered during an unsuccessful defence of the title against Andrade ‘Cein’ Almas a few months back. McIntyre made a surprise appearance, alligning himself with Dolph Ziggler in an attack against the Titus Worldwide duo to Titus O’Neill and Apollo Crews.
McIntyre is a former Intercontinental Champion and Tag Team Champion in WWE and is no stranger to WWE. Following his release in 2014 Drew took the independent wrestling world by storm and captured the ICW Heavyweight Championship for the second time from Jack Jester before taking it around the world in defending the title in Europe, America and Austrialia, earning the status as a World Heavyweight Championship. He would hold the title for over a year before losing it to Grado. McIntyre had also held the BCW Heavyweight Championship along with the Scottish Heavyweight Championship in the SWA.
Drew joins former ICW Zero G Champion Finn Balor on the red brand.
Over on Smackdown Live it was revealed that Eric Young, Alexander Wolfe and Killian Dain of SAnitY would be coming to the blue brand. Killian Dain, formerly known as Big Damo, defeated Chris Renfrew to lift the ICW World Heavyweight Championship in 2016 in a bloody match in Belfast, holding the title for four months before being dethroned by Joe Coffey. Dain has held heavyweight titles in many Scottish promotions including W3L, SWE and Reckless Intent Wrestling along with numerous tag team championships.
With all four brands in WWE containing a former ICW champion in some form, Aleister Black and Wolfgang in NXT along with Noam Dar in 205 Live, Insane Championship Wrestling really looks to be the pinnacle in Scottish professional wrestling.
We wish Drew and Killian the best of luck in their new surroundings.
