This past Friday, former WWE Women’s Champion and WWE Hall of Famer, Lita spent the evening at the Rox Hotel to answer some questions from a motley crew of wrestling fans.
“Review” is a very loose term for what this is going to be. The last time I went to an event like this was Roddy Piper’s Tour To Settle The Score in Inverness. For that one I just talked about how the event ran and the surrounding “stuff”.
Doors opened for VIP Gold Ticket holders at 6pm, but due to there being no downstairs door staff folk just queued up regardless of ticket eligibility. No matter as we climbed the stairs of the Rox Hotel we got into the hall where the event was due to take place. As Lita’s flight was running late we stood about for a bit with the option of finding a seat or queuing up to get the photos taken.
There was a lot of waiting but the team in the hall keep folk in the know and it didn’t fell like an awfully long time to wait when there was other people in the queue. Lita arrived and the photo festivity began.
As a Gold ticket holder I was granted a photograph taken by Brianbatphotography plus a photo was taken with my own camera so it could be uploaded straight away. In order for the line to go as quickly as possible it was photos first then rejoining the queue for the signing. It made more sense than it sounded and save Lita from signing, getting up, photo taken and then sit down to repeat the whole process. Plus you got to stand next to her and not from across a table, which always looks awkward.
Anyway, here is the Brianbat photo:

Don’t you worry, I am fully aware that I look like a potato, but no hover hand so take that nerds!
Also, that shirt was not flattering to my chunky figure.
So after shaking like a leaf meeting my first wrestling crush and awkwardly attempting the chat I moved on and went to the back of the queue again to get some stuff signed. The same Lita theme played over and over and over. You know the one…
The one where nobody knows the words and just scurls until the end.
Back to it, upon meeting Lita she was just lovely. You had an aura of her just being larger than life even if I looked like a giant next to her. She has a presence, that’s for sure. She didn’t rush folk but at the same time was mowing through the queue.
The fact that she still looked keen to meet us after a drunk bloke tried to give her a kiss was commendable.
It was during the re-queuing I spoke to the author of ‘Swift Advice’ Mr Scotty Swift himself. Turned out he was hosting the Q&A portion of the evening so that was something to look forward to.
Once again, as part of the Gold Ticket elite, I was eligible for one signed picture and a signed item of my own. Of course I had bought Lita’s book ‘A Less Travelled R.O.A.D. – The Reality Of Amy Dumas’, as did about 30 other people.

So that was nice, honestly, I don’t know how I have gotten 27 years into life seeing as Lita tried to start a conversation, pointed out my old school Hardy Boyz shirt and my response was ‘I couldn’t find one of yours’ well done jackass. Followed up by saying ‘oh yeah I’d like my name on it, I’m not going to sell it on eBay, it’ll be all mine’ after she kindly asked if I wanted my name on the items. Now, I don’t know what tone you are reading those quotes in my friends but reading that back…it was weird right?
At least I was one of the few dudes to pick the non bikini 8×10 photo, so there’s that…
After all that there was a wee break which allowed the audience to write down some questions for Lita to answer. While raffle tickets were sold, of course there was a raffle!
We’re about two hours into the event, an hour for photos and an hour for signatures. The time went by pretty quickly, unless you had that Lita theme in your head:
Scotty Swift hosted the Q&A, they talked about Lita’s start in wrestling and what she would tell her past self, moving onto her time in ECW and into her first couple years in WWE.
I don’t want to spoil it for you if you are…at Leeds? or if there’s a further tour with her but in Aberdeen Swift looked pretty natural as the host and Lita was up for answering the questions in good detail.
Swift went through fan questions then into the crowd for fans to ask there own. Lita answered all the questions and was gracious in doing so. It was a respectful crowd, they were here to see Lita, no hecklers, just appreciative fans listening to this Legend speak.
Lita covered her own career, her future aspirations and her thoughts on the industry today.
The event ended at about 9pm so the q&a lasted about an hour in total.
The 3 hours flew by, the Gold Ticket pretty much meant you paid for the extras and Silver didn’t receive at the time of purchase.
You wouldn’t have known that it was a show organised by an outside company as WrestleZone was prominent in there show posters around the hall and the staff were all WrestleZone cladded. It felt like WrestleZone got a few days notice that they were hosting it and did what they could, which was a success. A few empty seats but there were over 100 people in attendance, the queuing system worked and it was a very fun night.
So yeah, a good night and highly enjoyable. Thanks to all involved in the planning, the event itself and to Amy Dumas for being as lovely as I’d hoped.
