WrestleZone returned to Aberdeen’s Cairncry Community Centre this past Saturday for Proving Grounds 2018, a special charity show in aid of Friends of ANCHOR. Kirsten McDonald served as the guest commissioner for a very important evening for all involved at WrestleZone. Here are a few talking points coming out of the event!
A New Championship Unveiled
Following her victory over Lord Michael of Graham earlier in the night, Kirsten McDonald was presented with her very own championship belt just before the main event! Here she is posing with her new title;

Carnage In Cairncry
The evening’s main event was a huge Tables Match, pitting Bryan Tucker and The Rejected against Aspen Faith and Sterling Oil members Crusher Craib and William Sterling. This match went all over the Cairncry Community Centre, with the walls, the audience chairs and the raffle bucket all being used as weapons. In the end, Archer took Aspen off the top with a Rock Bottom but just like at The Regal Rumble, the table didn’t break. The Outcast then tossed The King of Catch through the table in the corner for the win. A lucky escape for Aspen here, as the table leg came through the wood and could’ve caused some serious damage. Fortunately, he appears to have walked away unscathed and should be fine to compete at Discovery Wrestling later today.
The Next Generation Of WrestleZone Stars
Proving Grounds always features some of the greatest up and coming talent from Scotland. Two PBW Academy graduates made appearances, as Prince Asad lost to Bradley Evans in the opening match while the debuting Dylan Angel was pinned by “Vintage” Nathan North. The WrestleZone Training Academy was also showcased, as Lord Michael of Graham was pinned by both Kaden Garrick and guest commissioner Kirsten McDonald, with both matches ending in a matter of seconds. There was some success however, as Dino Del Monte and Ted O’Keefe (now collectively known as The Outfit) defeated Scotty Swift and Blue Thunder in tag team action. More of them please.
Richard R. Russell Steps Into The Ring
Although he refused to enter the ring in The Regal Rumble Match, Richard R. Russell decided he wanted to compete at Proving Grounds and chose Cysto as his opponent. Russell entered flanked by Crusher Craib and William Sterling, while Cystomania was running wild. Russell distracted the referee on several occasions, allowing Crusher and William to destroy The Tangerine Dream. As Cysto looked set on a victory later in the match, William distracted the referee. This allowed Crusher to enter the ring and boot the face off of Cysto, before he pushed Richard on top for the win. The Sterling Oil adviser is now 2-0 in competition in 2018; can he make it 3-0 against Damien next month?
An Evening With Grado In August
Guest commissioner Kirsten McDonald promised an announcement regarding Grado to be revealed during the show.
