WZ

Last night saw WrestleZone make their debut in Turriff at the Baden Powell Centre, just weeks away from Aberdeen Anarchy X. Six matches left me with four talking points heading away from the show, so let’s get straight in to it!

The Turriff Screwjob… Or Not

The evening’s main event featured Damien against Aspen Faith one twist; Damien’s nemesis and former colleague Richard R. Russell would be the special guest referee. Russell did everything in his power to prevent The Revolutionary from winning; taking ages to count out Aspen, fast counting Damien’s shoulders to the mat, blatantly tripping up Damien. Russell almost got one up on Damien but after interference from The Rejected and a Flying Codebreaker, Damien screamed at Russell to count. Going in, I was certain that Aspen would be winning due to the circumstances but yet another surprise on the road to Aberdeen Anarchy X.

A Vintage Farewell

Following his loss in Triple Threat action to Mr P thanks to an inadvertent trip-up from Jeeves Winchester, Nathan North shocked the Turriff audience and clotheslined him. The North Star is on a mission to capture the Tri-Counties Championship, and this match was part of his plan. A modified brainbuster put an official end to North and Winchester’s alliance. Will Jeeves find another client or is this the last we’ll see of him? I certainly hope it’s the first option.

Kaden Garrick Injured?

The second match of the night saw a first-time bout as Crusher Craib faced Kaden Garrick in a battle between two of WrestleZone’s toughest stars. The Creator of Carnage did everything in his arsenal to put Kaden away, ending it with a massive Big Boot. The former two-time Tag Team Champion had to be checked on by security afterwards but managed to leave on his own two feet, albeit stumbling away. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Kaden suffering a concussion here.

Aspen! Get The Tables!

Ahead of the Tables Match at Aberdeen Anarchy, Aspen Faith brought the wood a bit earlier as he interfered in The Rejected’s match with The Outfit and used a broken table to cost the champions the non-title match. The King of Catch reintroduced the half-table in his main event match but before he could use it on Damien, The Rejected returned to ringside and snatched it from his hands before laying him out. Archer and Vago may have the numbers game for now, but just wait till September 1st when The Kings of Catch are out in full force. An Apter Burner through a table isn’t too much to ask for, right?

A rather successful debut in Turriff for WrestleZone. There are two more stops before Aberdeen Anarchy X, those being August 11th at the Inverurie Town Hall (tickets – www.ringsideworld.co.uk) and August 18th at Union Square, the annual outdoors event to get some exposure ahead of the biggest show of the year. Make sure to be in attendance as the road to #AA2K18 winds down.
