WZAAX

At the time of writing, I’m not long home from the Beach Ballroom. A venue that last night saw 1300+ fans flock in to witness the tenth anniversary of WrestleZone with Aberdeen Anarchy X. We here at SWN were very excited heading in to the event and apart from one particular result (more on that later), I thoroughly enjoyed the night. Plenty of talking points coming out of it!

The Revolution Era Begins

The evening’s main event is one that had its first seeds planted all the way back at Christmas Chaos 2015, it was Shawn Johnson defending the Undisputed Championship against Damien inside a steel cage with Lee McAllister popping about at ringside. There were several moments where either man could’ve escaped but when all was said and done, we were left with a new champion as The Revolutionary low blowed his former comrade (a little callback to when Richard R. Russell screwed him out of the title in January) and dropped to the floor below. Excellent!

The Greatest And Now Two-Time Champion

No longer do we have to listen to Zach Dynamite demand to be called the soon to be two-time Tri-Counties Champion as he captured the championship from Andy Wild in a Fatal Four Way Match, also including Mr P and a reinvented Nathan North. Of course, the victory came after Bradley Evans turned on Mr P and planted him with a TKO as he reunited with his old training partner Dynamite. Boom.

New Tag Team Champions? Nope

There it was. It happened. The Kings of Catch had won the Tag Team Championships from The Rejected in an Elimination Tables Match (fantastic twist to what was announced by the way). Unfortunately, announce tables don’t count! Damn those referees with their stipulations! The match continued and The Rejected retained. A travesty had occurred in the Beach Ballroom. It wasn’t all bad though as Archer and Vago’s new outfits are rather nice.

Chavo Guerrero Jr. and Santino Marella were the guests for this year’s Aberdeen Anarchy, and they more than left their mark on the north-east faithful. Chavo pinned Bingo Ballance in an exciting singles bout while Santino teamed with Grado in a victory over Kid Fite and Krieger, with Fite feeling the wrath of the Cobra. Two genuine lovely guests – would love to have them back over.

A Sterling Night For WrestleZone

What happens now? Perhaps the most interesting development came as Sterling Oil were defeated in the eight man tag team match, meaning they are now forced to disband. The last time they broke up, William Sterling formed The Thunder Buddies and Alan Sterling became a Lord. I’m not sure if I could handle two Lord’s being there at once…

The Best Surprise Ever

Two Lord’s you say? Yes, Lord Michael of Graham has risen once again and is included here solely because I popped for it big time. He was never eliminated from that Battle Royal mind you. He’ll be back for his redemption to start his journey to capturing the Undisputed Championship. Mark my words!

An enjoyable night overall. There’ll be reviews on the site in the next few days so keep a look out for those. In the meantime, make sure to keep up with WrestleZone’s social media pages to see what else they have planned for the remainder of the year!
