WrestleZone were at the Kincorth Community Centre in Aberdeen last night for Halloween Hijinx 2018, the most stacked Halloween Hijinx to date. Debuts, returns, title changes, the lot. A review will follow in the coming days but for now, these are the talking points coming out of the show!

Kings Reign Supreme

We can all rejoice as The Kings of Catch fixed a wrong from Aberdeen Anarchy X. They defeated The Rejected in a Halloween Brawl main event to capture the WrestleZone Tag Team Championships which is, surprisingly, their first set of doubles gold together since forming in the summer of 2016. The match itself was chaotic as soon as the bell rang, with pumpkins, a bag of sweets, and a literal child all being used as weapons. All it took in the end though was one Apter Burner to spell the end for The Rejected’s reign on top of the tag team division, and begin a new era with The Kings of Catch standing above them all.

A Night Of Returns

NXT UK star Kenny Williams was already announced to be returning at the show to face Jason Reed, but he wasn’t the only familiar face making an appearance. In the opening Dog Collar Match, William Sterling emerged for the first time since Aberdeen Anarchy, distracting Scotty Swift to allow Crusher Craib the chance to gain victory. William and Crusher did however make it clear that they are no longer aligned. Later on, a fan dressed as a ghost unmasked to reveal himself as Mr P, a man not seen since being attacked by then-friend Bradley Evans at the Beach Ballroom. P attacked both Evans and Zach Dynamite, seemingly staking claim as the next challenger to the Tri-Counties Championship.

Round Three Anyone?

Damien and Irving Garrett are now 1-1 in singles competition. Garrett was the victor in their previous encounter as part of the Drew Galloway Invitational Tournament Finals back in May, while Damien picked up the win in their rematch here. Both matches followed a similar sort of style, with Irving looking to pick apart Damien’s limbs and Damien using a more strike-based arsenal. A rubber match looks to be on the cards for the near future and, seeing as it wasn’t on the line this time around, perhaps that could be contested for the Undisputed Championship.

FAKE NEWS

Jason Reed was pinned by Kenny Williams. Yes, that did indeed happen, I’ll give you that. But Jason’s foot was underneath the bottom rope for the entirety of the three count. Referee Mikey Innes failed to notice it, despite being told so by members of the audience and Agent W. Given the circumstances of the loss, I can guarantee you this won’t be the last we’ve heard of it from Mr Reed. After all, it’s FAKE NEWS anyway.

Introducing Caleb Valhalla

Alan Sterling promised to introduce us to his new bodyguard, and that he did. A man by the name of Caleb Valhalla strutted on to the stage, with himself and Alan wearing matching t-shirts covered in Alan’s face. Snazzy. Although we didn’t get to see Caleb get physically involved, it’ll be worth the wait until he does. Looks like he could destroy someone with a barrage of suplexes, body slams, and powerbombs.

As mentioned, a review of the show will follow in the coming days. In the meantime, stay tuned to WrestleZone’s social media pages for news on all upcoming events, including Saturday’s charity show for Friends of ANCHOR at the Cairncry Community Centre!
