During last night’s NXT UK TakeOver: Blackpool event, current ICW Women’s World Champion Kay Lee Ray was featured on camera in the crowd (along with Germany’s Jazzy Gabert). The commentary team noted that KLR will be a huge factor in the future of NXT UK, signifying that The Queen of Insanity would be joining the brand full-time.
This follows in the footsteps of Kay Lee making two previous appearances for WWE, the more prominent of which saw her compete in WWE’s inaugural Mae Young Classic in the summer of 2017, where she sadly went out in the first round at the hands of Mexico’s Princesa Sugehit. Her other match was on an October 2015 episode of NXT, losing to Nia Jax.
As you may remember, Ray had been appearing as part of 2018’s World of Sport Wrestling show on ITV, where she’s actually their current (and so far, only) WOS Women’s Champion. No word yet on whether or not she’ll still be competing on the upcoming tour or if she’ll just be stripped of the title.
We at the Scottish Wrestling Network wish Kay Lee Ray all the best for this exciting new venture in her career!
