Following last week’s prelude episode, Kings Road Warriors officially premiered this week as Ashley Vega, Angel Hayze, and Jesse Santana began their journey. Under the tutelage of Sammii Jayne, Aspen Faith, and Lewis Girvan respectively, the PBW Academy graduates were put through both mental and physical challenges in their first week!

ROUND 1 – General Knowledge Test

The first round featured some questions that, according to Lewis Girvan, they should’ve known if they were hoping to make it in the business. So, what were these questions? Name every member in the original incarnation of The Nexus, name the inaugural ICW World Heavyweight Champion, name the big four WWE pay-per-views. All the big ones, especially that first one. Big shoutout to Ashley Vega here for the Nexus question, naming Skip Sheffield right off the bat – we all know he was the best member. Despite her admiration for Skip and some cheating from Sammii Jayne, Ashley was unable to pick up a point here as Jesse Santana walked away with the first win of the episode. It always comes in handy to memorise the members of The Nexus!

Before the next round, Aspen Faith threatened Angel Hayze with a Death Match if she didn’t win either of the other rounds. Big stakes on the line for Angel!

ROUND 2 – Lightning Round

The second round, like the first, saw a series of questions in a lightning round fashion. Again, some important questions here for aspiring wrestlers – name the current WWE Intercontinental Champion, name the longest reigning ROH World Champion, name the length of time The Kings of Catch have been a team for. All the big ones. After stating Aspen and Lewis had been teaming for two years, The Princess of Pro Wrestling walked away with his second win in a row. Sammii Jayne claimed it was all a fix but the point still stands – Jesse Santana comes out victorious in the debut episode of Kings Road Warriors.

Prior to the third and final round, Ashley Vega was challenged to do 50 sit ups by Sammii Jayne. The Championship Huntress dangled some chocolate in front of her to make Vega work harder, which worked. Lewis Girvan also told Jesse Santana that there was no place for colour in wrestling (despite Jesse wearing all black at the time), and told him to tell the camera he’s a serious wrestler.

ROUND 3 – Test of Strength

With neither Ashley Vega nor Angel Hayze having scored a single point, Lewis gave them a test of strength to determine second and last place for this episode. Both women successfully performed a deadlift, before Ashley scored a point for lifting the weights higher after a second weight had been added. By process of elimination, she was declared the victor. Looks like it’ll be nothing but Death Matches for Angel Hayze.

So, coming out of episode one, the scores are as follows;

  • Jesse Santana – 2 points
  • Ashley Vega – 1 point
  • Angel Hayze – 0 points

No word on if these scores will follow over each week or if they’ll reset, but one thing that’s for sure is this series will no doubt be interesting to watch week in and week out!
