Last night on WWE Monday Night Raw, Piper Niven became one half of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.
Following the injury to Sonya Deville, Chelsea Green was left without a partner, she suggested to Adam Pearce to hold Chelsea’s Got Talent to find a replacement to hold the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships but after a confrontation with Katana Chance and Kayden Carter, Piper Niven attacked the duo and took the vacant half of the titles from a shocked Chelsea Green.
This marks Piper’s first championship in WWE and follows in the footsteps of Nikki Cross, Alba Fyre, Isla Dawn, Noam Dar, Mark Coffey, Wolfgang, and Drew McIntyre with a Scottish title holder in World Wrestling Entertainment.
Niven made her RAW debut in 2021 as Eva Marie‘s sidekick Doudrop after a period spent in NXT UK, where she had an epic rivalry with the then-Kay Lee Ray, following competing in the 2017 WWE Mae Young Classic, making it to the quarter finals.
Piper’s win also marks two former members of Stardom’s Queen’s Quest as current champions in WWE with Iyo Sky holding the WWE Women’s Championship on Smackdown.
The WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship adds to her impressive resume with titles held all over the UK and in Japan in her career.
Congratulations Piper!
