Dark times have fallen upon Pro2 Wrestling after the controversial conclusion to Battle Lines, thanks to Charles Boddington and his trophy cabinet running roughshod in two separate championship matches. Knowing full well that the odds are stacked against him, promoter Logan Storm has realised that he needs all the help can get, and has decided to bring the Ayrshire promotion to his hometown of Drongan to recharge.

So, on the 16th of March, Pro2 will be teaching a lesson in hard knocks as it presents Homecoming from the Drongan School Hall. With six contests filled to the brim with match-of-the-night candidates, including four championship bouts, this article will dress down the card and discuss each match in detail.

Rosie Nyte, the General Manager of the Belles Division, will also be appearing in Drongan to address several issues, both personal and professional.

Pro2 Ayrshire Tag Team Championships – Alliance Rules – The Alliance (Adam Shame & Sweeney) (c) vs Lucha Scotland (Lucha DS & Soldato)

Both tandems came out of Battle Lines with their tag team title reigns intact. In the first half, Lucha Scotland defeated the Blood Money Mercs in a cross-promotional title bout for the Target Wrestling Tag Team Championships. And, in the second half, The Alliance handily destroyed the team of Gabriel Saul and Drew Mercury, who were the wild card stand-ins for Arcade Violence after Jake Lawless got injured and required emergency surgery. But, after Lucha Scotland retained in the opening contest at the Troon Concert Hall, the luchadores noticed that the Alliance were doing some scouting work from the upper balcony, paying close attention to the match. And, it seems that the dreaded duo of Sweeney and “The Paisley Wrecking Machine” have found their next championship opponents.

This will be their first clash in Pro2 since the Alliance won the Pro2 Tag Team Championships from Lucha Scotland at Brawl at the Hall II, and Adam Shame and Sweeney are hoping for a repeat of history, whereas Lucha DS and Soldato are seeking to hold both promotions’ tag team championships in unison. The match will not take as long as the 9:30 it took for The Alliance to beat Lucha Scotland in their preliminary championship encounter, as the defending champions will once again be imposing their eight-minute time limit, better known as “Alliance Rules”.

Lucha Scotland are aiming to beat the clock, but The Alliance are aiming to beat the traffic. The popular luchadores will need to use their speed and agility more effectively if they wish to recapture the belts – an accomplishment that The Alliance will not make easy with their brute strength and underhanded methods.

Pro2 Belle’s Championship – Angel Hayze (c) vs Daisy Jenkins

Claiming the belt from Emily Hayden at Battle Lines served as justice for Angel Hayze after being robbed of the belt at Mayday Mayhem due to Che Monet helping his comrade get disqualified. Now that the duo got their comeuppance and left Battle Lines empty handed, Hayze is looking for a strong contender for her first title defence, and Daisy Jenkins has decided to be her first roadblock.

Jenkins hasn’t had a lot of luck in Pro2 with her 0-3 record, but has pushed each of her opponents to the limit and has come fingertips away from victory on each occasion. Now, she plans on getting her first win in Pro2, and in her mind, there is no better way to do so than by ending a title reign that has only just begun. Her dirty tactics make her a ruthless first contender for the fan favourite Hayze, but Angel’s dynamic fighting style and deadly Super Kick might be the perfect counterbalance to ensure that the Feisty Fifer leaves Drongan as she came in: without the Belles’ Championship.

Luke Kyro vs Che Monet

2023 was not a good year in Pro2 for Che Monet. First, he failed to dethrone Logan Smith for the Undisputed Pro2 Why So Serious? Championship on two separate occasions, at Mayday Mayhem and Battle Lines. During his championship main event at Mayday Mayhem, the illegal assistance from ally Emily Hayden was countered, resulting in Monet’s defeat. And, his inadvertent superkick to Hayden during their mixed tag team winner-takes-all championship match at Battle Lines ended up not only costing Che the Undisputed title but also costing Emily her Belles’ Championship to Angel Hayze.

Now, Che is in damage control mode and hopes to rebuild himself, and is planning to do it at the expense of Pro2’s newest signee. Luke Kyro, a graduate of the Glasgow Pro Wrestling Asylum, has wowed audiences all over Scotland, making a name for himself in ICW and Iron Girders with his acrobatic style and flashy moves – moves that are bound to shine brightly off of Monet’s sequins.

The allrounder from West Lothian is comfortable both down on the mat and up in the air, but given how unhinged Monet is likely to be, Kyro must pull out all the stops to prevent his Pro2 debut from becoming a beautiful disaster. Monet, on the other hand, must not allow his emotions and anger to get the better of him, as he is desperate to rectify his pitfalls from 2023, but it is unclear whether he will be accompanied by Hayden or he will have to repair his image alone.

Scottish Interpromotional Championship – Davey Blaze (c) w/Charles Boddington vs Frank X. Cross

Frank Cross was a valiant custodian of the Scottish Interpromotional Championship for a full calendar year, defending the belt against all contenders across multiple promotions until falling short at the last hurdle in his title defence gauntlet match at Battle Lines last year. He was set to win the gauntlet and continue his reign, but “the Manager of Champions” and his clients began their treachery and ripped the championship from the hands of Cross and into the grubby paws of Davey Blaze.

Cross is now invoking his rematch clause, opting not to cash in his King of the Bing trophy until a later date, and is coming for “The Glasgow Gladiator” with a vengeance. Blaze has already established himself as a dangerous juggernaut in Pro2, and his allegiance with Charles Boddington has made him even more dangerous than before. The former champion is wary of the tricks that Boddington holds up his sleeve – and within his briefcase – and plans on laying down the law on Blaze and Boddington, but will the sinister pair find a way of evading it again?

Ray Berani vs Krieger

It has almost been a year since Ray Berani debuted in Pro2 and his scandalous victory over ‘Big Daddy Kill’ sent the big man spiralling. This loss resulted in Krieger turning to the dark side for his Scottish Interpromotional Championship bout at King of the Bing because he felt that he had lost his way and needed to find himself again in the darkness.

In a video released on Pro2 social media, Krieger thanked Berani for his cheating as it acted as the wake-up call he needed to get back on course and live up to his potential. And, at Homecoming, Krieger plans on repaying “The Leader of the Revolution” and using him as a stepping stone to get back to the top of Pro2. Berani has, unbeknownst to him, awoken the beast within Krieger and is walking right into the Grindhouse this coming Saturday.

It won’t be easy for Berani to steal another victory this time around, but now he must figure out a way to escape the Grindhouse alive… if Krieger permits him to. Berani may be small and nimble enough to evade the big man’s heavier hits, but he has a lot of work to do to ensure that he goes 2-0 against Krieger. If “Big Daddy Kill” has refocused himself like he claims to have done in his vignette, defeating Berani could be the rebound he needs.

Pro2 Ayrshire Heavyweight Championship – TJ Rage w/Charles Boddington (c) vs Hunter Samson

Hunter Samson has made waves since debuting at King of the Bing, interfering in the Scottish Interpromotional Championship match before coming up short in both the Undisputed Why So Serious? Championship match and the King of the Bing Battle Royal. And, at Battle Lines, he was the first one eliminated in the Scottish Interpromotional Championship gauntlet match after putting in a decent performance against then-champion Frank Cross.

He thought that his drawing of the #2 entry was just sheer bad luck until he saw how the rest of the match – and indeed, the main event – played out. He has since surmised that his entry was tampered with and that the match was a complete setup by “The Manager of Champions” and his goons. Since Blaze is already competing at Homecoming in a championship rematch against Pro2’s ‘Struttin’ Sheriff’, Samson has decided to go after another head on the hydra by challenging TJ Rage in the main event for the Ayrshire Heavyweight Championship.

Ever since Rage turned on the fans at Mayday Mayhem last year by attacking both Logan Storm Sr. and Jr., he has also taken on the services of Charles Boddington: a man who also has a bone to pick with the boss. After nefariously beating Grado in the championship main event of BattleLines, Rage is going above and beyond to prevent his record-setting reign from coming to an end. But, with a severely pissed-off 6’7” goliath gunning for him, he and “The Manager of Champions” certainly have a challenge on their hands to guarantee that Samson doesn’t tear the Ayrshire Heavyweight Championship away from Boddington’s trophy cabinet.
