The biggest weekend of Scottish wrestling has wrapped up, and in typical Scottish sports fashion is was a whirlwind of incredible highs and heartbreaking lows. Insane Championship Wrestling held shows after both Smackdown and Clash At The Castle, and with the advantage of watching a PLE at a reasonable hour I still fired up a 7 day free trial for Triller+, stayed up until 1am, and had my eyes on The Asylum from afar.

13 matches took place over those two shows, so let’s look at the biggest talking points coming out of After Hours.

Drew Galloway Returns Home

Less than 24 hours from his main event match against Damien Priest at The OVO Hydro, Drew McIntyre made his first visit to The Asylum to thank the fans that got him to where he was. Watch now:

Though McIntyre was unsuccessful at Clash At The Castle, he made the most of returning home, a Scottish Wrestling Hall of Fame induction, countless media appearances, and making once in a lifetime memories for many fans over the course of the week.

A New Zero G(od) Champion

Landon Riley entered for his Zero G Championship match on night one that he earned by winning a packed ladder match at ‘The Only Way Is Up’, complete with custom tights barring the Zero G Championship, but a bitter Theo Doros attacked the young star leaving him unable to compete.

The champion, Stevie James, made the save but after some back and forth barbs Doros got his match against the champion.

In a shocking turn of events, Doros went from having no match on the card to walking out as ICW Zero G Champion.

His weekend wasn’t over when Landon Riley called him out to open night two but Doros managed to find victory once more. The self proclaimed “Wrestling God” is now once again the God of the Zero G division.

ADM’s Manifesto For ICW

Following a brutal Asylum Deathmatch victory over Rory Coyle that included thumbtacks, tables, barbed wire, and jumper cables, Jack Jester had very little respite when ADM ran out to attack the ICW World Heavyweight Champion as he held the title aloft.

ADM cited that he wanted to embarrass Jack Jester like CM Punk did for his best friend mere hours beforehand and wanted an ICW World Heavyweight Championship match on his own terms, he wanted to pick the referee, the ring announcer, the timekeeper, all of it. Jester recovered to agree but he would decide the when and where, the 1st of September in The Garage for Barred.

A big championship bout for ICW’s return to The Garage, as The Prophet looks to dethrone The Hardcore Icon.

Night Warriors Return

Arcade Violence hadn’t been on the best of rolls recently in Insane Championship Wrestling with the losses starting to pile up. The return of the spiked shoulder pads with Lara Steel in accompaniment was the magic formula as Night Warrior Lawless and Night Warrior Turnbull took the fight to the Temple of Malum.

Isaac North and Rob Drake were happy to oblige as the two teams hurled big blows at each other but Arcade Violence were victorious.

With KoE’s disrespectful words about the tag team division on night two, which also saw them defeat the team of Will Kroos and Nathan Black, could a showdown between KoE and Arcade Violence be a matter of when if they continue their winnings ways?

You’re Barred!

ICW confirmed that as part of their monthly events with July 7th’s ‘Taps Aff!’ and August 4th’s ‘Heavy Roastin” events taking place at The Asylum, that ‘Barred’ would be returning in September 1st at The Garage, the Mecca of Insane Championship Wrestling.

The all steel cage event that will see Jack Jester defend the ICW World Heavyweight Championship against ADM. A battleground that is familiar for both having stood across from each other in the Super Smokin’ Thunderbowl previously.
