With Battle of the Nations taking place on August 10th it might be a little inconvenient to uproot the whole card and Tri-Counties Championship Tournament at this stage but just something to keep in mind for next year…

1. We haven’t had a “Battle of the Nations” match in years.

The last advertised Battle of the Nations match was 2017 between Andy Wild and Mr P. So either bring back the match or retool it into a tag team tournament with some mystery. Regal Rumble has The Regal Rumble, Halloween Hijinks has the Halloween Brawl and Switcheroo Match, and Christmas Chaos has the Christmas Brawl, why not add a staple to Battle of the Nations again.

2. A fresh way to determine challengers for the WrestleZone Tag Team Championships.

It’s been a while since we’ve seen a tag team tournament in WrestleZone, when was the last one? 2013 after Scotty Swift and Jay Lethal vacated the belts? That’s over 10 years ago, if you wanted to streamline the tournament then qualifiers could be held at gala days with updates/highlights posted online. Winners advancing into the Battlebowl pot.

3. Take advantage of social media to draw the teams.

Do it live from the training academy the week of the show, let teams be formed and react in real time, or announce the entrants beforehand so we know who will be on the show and we can speculate on what teams we could see.

4. Think of the combinations!

Who doesn’t want to see Rhys Dawkins team with Bruiser Brad Evans? Or Zach Dynamite co-exist with Damien for a night. Lord Mr Malice and Cysto? Dream teams all over the place.

5. Opens up the talent pool.

Some outside the box thinking here but using the original Nations theme we could have Mark Andrews, or a Flash Morgan Webster, former NXT UK Tag Team Champions rock up to represent Wales. Maybe former NXT stars Zack Gibson, James Drake, or NXT UK’s Rampage Brown or a returning Sha Samuels representing England. Adam Maxted representing Northern Ireland anyone?

BONUS. If you do it once and it doesn’t work then I’ll shut up about it.

Promise.
