Ayrshire’s only homegrown wrestling promotion continues to break ground as more towns declare themselves as being Pro2. King of the Bing 2 isn’t far on the horizon, but before Pro2 enters the Kingdom of Rankinston, Pro2’s Kingpin Cameron Findlay has decided to not only treat Ayrshire wrestling fans to an extra show but add yet another area to Pro2’s dominion, so to speak. Thus, on the 28th of July, Pro2 Wrestling will return to North Ayrshire for the first time in a year-and-a-half as the Kilwinning Orange Hall presents Dominion. The six-bout line-up is bound to leave North Ayrshire grapple fans gagging for more, and will be deconstructed in this article.

Pro2 Ayrshire Tag Team Championships – The Alliance (Adam Shame & Sweeney) (c) vs Lucha Scotland (Lucha DS & Soldato)

Sweeney and “The Paisley Wrecking Machine” Adam Shame have held the tag titles hostage for over a year-and-a-half, avoiding all responsibilities as champions, and demanding that all title defences be contested under a strict 8-minute time limit. When they finally showed up to dominantly defend against the Wild Card team of Gabriel Saul and Drew Mercury, they had a menacing staredown from the stands against Lucha Scotland beforehand as the then-Target Wrestling Tag Team Champions rebuked the Blood Money Mercs. The Alliance knew that the luchadores would be gunning for their tag titles, and after managing to duck them at Homecoming, they now have nowhere to hide as Pro2 management has demanded the title match.

At long last, Lucha Scotland gets their title rematch and they are desperate to ensure that it is not a repeat of their previous in-ring encounter, which saw Sweeney and “The Paisley Wrecking Machine” using their typical underhandedness to upset the popular luchadors and take their championships at Brawl at the Hall II. Having lost their Target Wrestling Tag Team Championships to Martin Kirby and Logan Reid at the promotion’s 11th Anniversary show in Carlisle back in April, Lucha DS and Soldato wish to reclaim the dual champions status that they held onto for a mere month, this time holding the Pro2 Tag Team Championships with the Big Massive Wrestling Tag Team Championships. But, to get there, they must compete under “Alliance Rules”. With eight minutes counting down on the Tartantron, time is tight and the Alliance’s heavy-handed ruthlessness will play a key part in suppressing the luchadores efforts to overcome the two big men.

Lucha Scotland has the opportunity to become the first-ever two-time Pro2 Tag Team Champions, but the Alliance want to keep the titles hostage for longer. Eight minutes will pass rather quickly, and Lucha Scotland must remain vigilant and agile to escape the constricting and difficult vice grip that Shame and Sweeney are capable of applying.

KT Mills vs HERA

Dominion is a rather apt name for our Kilwinning show, as the Goddess of Stevenston returns to maintain her dominance over the Belles’ Division and is ready to defend her homestead of the Ardeer Peninsula. After mesmerising fans at PrestFest 2023 and conquering Daisy Jenkins at BattleLines 2023, Hera not only demanded a match for Dominion but also demanded that Cameron Findlay source the biggest and baddest Belle he could find to fight her. Now, she must put her money where her mouth is.

KT Mills has accomplished a lot in such a short career and is a fiercely loyal hand. At 21 years old, she has a long career ahead of her, and overcoming a star like Hera would do wonders for KT, especially in her Pro2 debut. KT’s size does balance out against that of Hera, but KT also won a Hardcore Championship fairly recently, meaning that KT isn’t afraid to go to extreme lengths to get the job done, even if defeating Hera requires foreign offence, but this is a fight that Hera cannot afford to lose. It truly will be a monumental clash between an Iron-Built superhuman and a Premier titan, but Kilwinning isn’t big enough for both of them.

Scottish Interpromotional Championship – Davey Blaze (c) w/Charles Boddington vs Ace Anderson

Blaze has made it clear since BattleLines 2023 that anybody who challenges him for the Scottish Interpromotional Championship will suffer a fate worse than death. His stiff offence, his deadly Sparrowhawk Spear, and the nefarious briefcase-swinging of his manager Charles Boddington have continuously proven to be the Bermuda Triangle for any contender willing (or stupid) enough to venture through it to be within fingertips’ reach of the gold. Having defeated Frank Cross twice, Blaze is licking his lips in anticipation of the next tombstone he can carve.

Ace Anderson has been a solid competitor for over a decade, proving himself as a fantastic solo and tag team competitor. Not only that, he wowed the Pro2 fans and management in his successful Big Massive Wrestling Tag Team Championship defence alongside partner Hugo Harris against Marc Munro and Silas Everett; and, despite a surprisingly early elimination from the main event’s battle royal by a Superkick from Sam Taylor, he has impressed management and fans enough to warrant a return. And it seems fitting that he defends the name of his homestead of North Ayrshire as he steps up to the “Glasgow Gladiator”.

Anderson knows full well that this match may be a death sentence considering the constant lurking of “the Manager of Champions”, but it’s a risk he is willing to take so that he can take the belt from Boddington’s trophy cabinet and protect North Ayrshire’s honour. It won’t be easy, but he will have the Pro2 faithful and a wild Kilwinning crowd behind him. The only question is whether that and his great in-ring ability will be enough to unseat Blaze.

Silas Everett vs Taylor Bellando

Silas Everett has had a rough time in Pro2. He was brought in by Marc Munro as a third-choice tag team partner in a failed endeavour to capture the Big Massive Wrestling Tag Team Championships in a cross-promotional title bout at last year’s King of the Bing show, resulting in Munro attacking him. In the main event that night, he lasted halfway through before being booted off the apron by Lucha DS. He came so close to getting his hands on Munro at Mayday Mayhem 2 despite the inclusion of Soldato in the match but was pulled by management at the last second to be pitted alongside Ahmed Hamdeh in a handicap match against Hunter Samson due to Hammerhead Smith no-showing to mess with Samson. Silas is now going solo and is eager to prove his worth in Pro2, as is his opponent.

Taylor Bellando has been a regular of the Scottish wrestling scene for nearly a decade, being a fellow Academy graduate alongside Everett, and has been a regular fixture in the West Coast territories. A veteran of the game since the mid-2010s, Bellando is finally getting his foot in Pro2’s door and is ready to shake things up. He has studied Everett from a distance and knows full well that Everett won’t play fair, but Bellando is a skilled veteran of the ring, so he will no doubt have some tactics to counteract Everett’s game. However, considering the unpredictability of Everett, Bellando needs to be careful in how he proceeds.

Frank Gallo vs Hunter Samson

The monstrous 6’7” Fifer has so far been living up to his promise of wrecking house against anyone who dares to stand in his way after being screwed out of two championships by Charles Boddington and his trophy cabinet, and Mayday Mayhem 2 saw him mutilate Ahmed Hamdeh and Silas Everett. There is a massive chip on Samson’s shoulder and he is begging someone to flick it off. And that someone is a familiar face to the giant over in Fife and West Lothian: Frank Gallo.

The PWR Pro mainstay has been tearing up the East Coast and is an old-school technician, having become a recognisable face across many promotions such as Discovery, UKPW, IGPW, and more. The self-professed “Methil’s Favourite Son” is aiming to impress management and fans in his Pro2 debut, and has one hell of a challenge on his hands as he faces a man over half a foot taller than him. The technical madman will be smart to chop down the big man piece by piece in this PWR Pro showdown and lock in his Crossface Chickenwing submission finisher, but will his grappling skills be enough to withstand Samson’s rampage?

Pro2 Ayrshire Heavyweight Championship – TJ Rage (c) w/Charles Boddington vs ???

This is not the first time that the Ayrshire Heavyweight Championship must be defended against a surprise opponent, much to the chagrin of Rage and Boddington, who are desperate to evade the match in whatever fashion possible. The dastardly duo are deeply dismayed by the notion of competing in Kilwinning full-stop, let alone a mystery challenger. The only question is who it could be.

Krieger is furious that 2023 was not a good year for him in Pro2, and after disposing of Ray Berani at Homecoming to avenge the defeat at last year’s Mayday Mayhem, Krieger has made it clear that he is gunning for gold this year. Having come close to beating Rage for the Ayrshire Heavyweight Championship before, the second time may be the charm.

Frank Cross has still not cashed in his King of the Bing trophy – which guarantees the holder a championship match for any Pro2 championship over the next calendar year – and with King of the Bing 2 approaching on the 17th of August, once again in Rankinston, he is at risk of lapsing the rules of the trophy. “Big Struttin’” is, without doubt, a main event calibre wrestler and has the popularity to boot, but whether or not he can make that step in Pro2 is yet to be seen, and upsetting Rage and Boddington is a great leap – one that many in Pro2 believes he can take.

Grado, one of Pro2’s biggest signings to date, fought valiantly against Rage in a losing effort when Rage shockingly aligned with Charles Boddington for the first time in Pro2. Having been the recipient of dirty deeds at the hands of Boddington and his trophy cabinet, Grado is well within his rights to challenge again and try to right the wrongs of BattleLines 2023, this time a lot closer to home.

Stone Malone hasn’t been seen in Pro2 in nearly two years since defeating Saqib Ali at Brawl at the Hall II but would be a welcome return and a serious opponent for Rage. A former Source Wrestling Heavyweight Champion and Scottish Interpromotional Champion, as well as a former UEWA European Heavyweight Championship contender, the Pro2 Original has an impressive resumé and a wide skillset that would make him a dangerous opponent for anyone.

Or, it could be none of those four and be someone who we have never seen before in Pro2. Speculation is running wild and nobody – not even the Kingpin’s closest allies or crew – knows who it could be, as Cameron Findlay is holding his Wild Cards very close to his chest.

The doors will open at 4pm, with the first bell at 4:30pm.
