As quick as a flash, episode 9 of This Is VALOR is up so as a bit of a Friday treat let’s dive into the second half of ‘A Night At The Opry’ from back in July.

God’s Country (Tim Strange, Frank of the Cross, & Stone Malone) defeated Sebastian Day, Sami Sparx, & Big Mick by pinfall.

As the two teams squared off the match eventually started with Sami Sparx and Stone Malone, with Malone getting the runaround from the chaotic luchador in the early exchanges, sending Stone to the outside following a springboard European uppercut.

Frank of the Cross clashed with Sebastian Day next, who managed to throw Day so hard into the corner it broke the bottom turnbuckle. Seb’s day wasn’t to get any better when Tim Strange tagged in to chop the life out of him as he dragged himself over to tag in Big Mick.

It was more like Medium Mick as Strange towered over him, not budging from the shoulder blocks, throwing him around and giving him a bit of rodeo time by choking him over the second rope, using the five count to its fullest.

God’s Country took their sweet time taking turns beating down Mick, laying in big chops, and manhandling him. Mick eventually dodged a charging Strange but as he raised his hand to tag in Sebastian Day, Cross and Malone rushed the ring to bring in Sparx and Day to brawl. Sparx laid everyone out with a dive from the top turnbuckle to the floor but it left Mick to walk into a lariat from Tim Strange for the three.

This was a great showcase of the cohesion that God’s Country have in comparison to the rag tag trio they faced. The cunning to rush the ring just has Mick was about to get a fresh man into the match was a very smart move, harnessing the recklessness of Sami Sparx to focus on taking out the many which left Big Mick all alone with the man mountain Tim Strange.

Hardcore Match – Mike Musso defeated Nitro Green by pinfall.

Musso tried to goad Nitro Green into a hardcore match to start off, which Green started off in style with a low blow while Mike’s back was turned. Musso returned the favour by crotching Green on the top and rattling Nitro’s greens by kicking the rope.

The testicular torture early on put Musso in the driving seat, overpowering Nitro Green and smashing him with a knee to the side of the head. Green tried to pick up some speed, throwing Musso down with a Sling Blade for a two count.

After the match spilled onto the outside, Nitro Green drove a chair into the stomach of Musso but felt the hard floor with a bodyslam from Mike Musso. A stage dive from Green gave Nitro another near fall, it was a swing and a miss with the chair as it ricocheted into his own face. Musso hoisted Green up for a Blunt Force Trauma DDT onto the chair for the win.

A fun match, it had a little bit of mayhem on the outside but ultimately the good guy overcomes the villain.

Kasey defeated Daisy Jenkins by pinfall.

Kasey showed her strength early on, using her extra height to get leverage over Daisy Jenkins. Jenkins tried to pick up the pace but her headlock was countered by the bite of The Mother of Chaos.

Jenkins continued to try and get quick attacks in, throwing herself at Kasey to cause damage but a missed 619 opened Daisy up to be caught and grounded by the veteran who proceeded to stomp and club at Daisy Jenkins. The torture continued with chokes and bites as Kasey was wild in her assault. Daisy managed to create some separated with an elbow to the face that rocked Kasey.

Daisy threw the forearms, managing to hit the 619 but it was only good for a two count as Kasey responded with a Uranage, then drove her knees into the skull of Jenkins but it wasn’t enough. Jenkins hit a knee of her own but before she could go off the second rope, Rubi Roberts arrived to cause a distraction which left Daisy prone to be slammed with a fireman’s carry then looking up at the lights after another knee to the face.

This was a great match, the plucky Daisy Jenkins against the comparative Amazonian Kasey was coupled with fast paced action throughout. Kasey showed her sadistic nature in moments, punishing Daisy but doing so calmly and with a smile on her face. The distraction furthers on Daisy and Rubi, while also leaving something on the table to revisit this match down the line. Great stuff.

Glasgow Street Fight – The New Age Kliq (Alex Kavero & Irn Dru Marshall) w/Chris Renfrew defeated Glasgow Grindhouse (Lou King Sharp & Krieger) by pinfall.

Marshall and Kavero went onto the attack as Glasgow Grindhouse naively posed to the fans as the anarchy began immediately. Sharp and Krieger turned it around as The NAK gathered on the outside but was followed by Krieger launching Sharp to the outside onto the trio on the floor.

As the Grindhouse doors swung open, Renfrew started throwing his weight, tripping Krieger off the apron and cracking a chair off the back of Sharp to give his group the advantage. Marshall and Kavero looked to isolate Lou King Sharp as referee Sean Moran could only look on. Krieger tried to fire up but was rammed head first into a chair.

Sharp suckered Marshall and Kavero in for a couple of straight punches to the groin. Giving a tribute to D-Von Dudley (who he beat you know, he doesn’t like to mention it) as Krieger got the tables. You had to have eyes all over the place while Sharp was smashing Irn Dru with cans of Irn Bru, Krieger appeared in the background with a child in his arms after using them to pummel Kavero.

The fight continued to the streets as the police turned the corner while Sharp and Marshall battered each other on the road outside of the Grand Ole Opry venue. The NAK had their way with Glasgow Grindhouse, leaving them on the hard tarred ground. A taxi arrived and the trio threw Sharp into the boot as the car drove away leaving Krieger all alone. Krieger tried to fight it but a second rope Stauner from Renfrew left him victim of a double team crucifix bomb through a table to claim victory for The New Age Kliq.

Absolute fucking madness. The taxi trip alone was crazy enough but the escalation of violence was incredible. You felt the hatred between the two teams as they caused absolute chaos at the Grand Ole Opry which saw The New Age Kliq stand tall once again. A fantastic main event on another great episode of This Is VALOR.
