Community Pro Wrestling made their debut in East Kilbride at the end of June with the full show uploaded to their Patreon a few days afterwards. A swift 90 minute upload that included the pre-show it would be rude not to have a peak.

The VIP portion was included, which was in front of maybe 10 people. There wasn’t a pre-show match announced or advertised as far as I could see or remember, but if there was a match confirmed it might have had folk part with the extra £3 for the privilege.

Pre-show – E-Town & Gregg defeated TMH & Jack Bizarre by pinfall.

Despite the lack of human bodies in the hall, the pre-show started off with four men from the Glasgow School of Wrestling, and with his recent match with The Big Strong Man in mind, I was looking forward to seeing what Jack Bizarre would pull out with E-Town standing across the ring.

This was also my introduction to Gregg and TMH.

It was a jump start with Bizarre and TMH not taking the yay-boo exchange well but were soon sent around the houses by E-Town and Gregg. The match settled with Bizarre and E-Town going at it with a nice exchange. A missile dropkick to the arm saw Jack fein injury to let TMH distract E-Town for the advantage.

Bizarre took control, bad mouthing the audience and dropping elbows to keep E-Town at bay. The quick tags continued with Bizarre keeping the pressure on. E-Town managed to fight back and tag in Gregg who took on both opponents as the match broke down.

E-Town rattled TMH with a codebreaker, and Jack Bizarre felt a Steak Bake Stunner from Gregg to take the three count.

Jack Bizarre once again elevated every moment, a lad that looks very comfortable in not letting a smaller crowd stop him from making everything bigger from a character standpoint. TMH and Gregg were a little looser when it came to committing to the moves, with some trepidation at times, and the odd deer in the headlights flashes but nothing egregious though. A fine match.

Kayden Cross defeated Umar Mohammed by pinfall.

The seats were filled for the start of the main show, opening with some sensational scenes, TV’s own against The Local Celebrity. As Umar Mohammed was in no rush to humour Kayden Cross, swiping snacks at ringside as the crowd got louder.

Mohammed struck first with a kick to the gut, a stalemate of shoulder blocks took place but Kayden broke through to send Umar flying. A flurry of offense sent Umar into the corner but thanks to the referee’s aim to create some separation, Mohammed jumped onto the opening to take charge, grounding Kayden with a headlock.

Kayden’s attempts to slam Umar were countered again and again, but Mohammed’s follow up couldn’t keep Cross down. A Thundergunn Express was dodged to finally allow Kayden Cross to slam Umar and for a finale landed a running splash for the pin.

It was short but didn’t outstay it’s welcome as the East Kilbride crowd were all behind Kayden Cross. For my money, Umar Mohammed is one of the most underrated in the country, especially for his expressiveness and ability to get his body language across to all corners of the venue whether he is absorbing support or, in this case, conveying rage. A loud opening bout.

The Renegade Wrex & Hannah Grande defeated Bryan Mojo & Nicole Jasmin by pinfall.

The crowd were on fire, as the chants echoed around the hall. Jasmin made use of her extra height to frustrate Hannah Grande with a request for a test of strength before laying in a forearm, a whip into the corner, and landing a cartwheel back elbow. Grande hastily tagged in The Renegade Wrex to be rushed by Bryan Mojo throwing himself at the big man reckless abandon.

Some miscommunication allowed Wrex to turn the tables, pushing Mojo into Nicole after a tag, managing to isolate her from Mojo and bringing Grande back in to take advantage. Jasmin managed to jawbreaker Wrex to tag Bryan back in as the roar heightened from fans. Grande issued a smack to Mojo but he lifted Hannah out to the apron to remove her from the bout.

Mojo dodged a spear from Wrex that ripped through Nicole Jasmin, a Polish Hammer knocked down Wrex but he wasn’t the legal man. While Mojo got his bearings together, Hannah Grande stalked her prey and landed a wheelbarrow stunner to spike Bryan to the mat and snatch victory.

A hot crowd made everything go up a level. The sneakiness of Hannah Grande was caught fantastically by the camera crew to heighten the drama, and with only a few matches in she is already showing a lot of confidence and being more vocal. Wrex might go under the radar at times in places but he developing into a dependable powerhouse.

I have an issue with the placement of Nicole Jasmin’s cartwheel back elbow, it’s a flashy move but it is wasted being used so early in matches. Not many people do it on the scene from what I can remember, and it could be a real crowd pleaser as part of a comeback to ramp up the energy.

A fun tag team match that was received really well.

RABU defeated Monstrum by pinfall.

There was an audible gasp when Monstrum entered, the perfect reaction to seeing a terrifying monster. RABU burst out with a new look, a KISS inspired face paint design with an ace of spades over his eye.

RABU came hard and fast with the forearms, picking up the speed and sending Monstrum over the top rope, but his crossbody was caught and he felt the power of Monstrum slamming him back first on the apron as the giant took charge. Spirited comebacks from RABU were quickly shut down with Monstrum using his mass to crash into his opponent. Laying out The House with a massive clothesline.

The willpower of the hometown crowd kept RABU swinging, three clotheslines finally got Monstrum to a knee and a enziguri stottering Monstrum into the corner, the foundations of the building was rocked when RABU used the momentum to send Monstrum over for a t-bone suplex.

Monstrum got a quick reprieve, sidestepping a top rope double axe handle and chokeslamming RABU hard to the mat for a two count. The colossus continued to throw his weight around but a quick roll up out of nowhere managed to give RABU the win as Monstrum stormed off in disbelief.

It was an electric atmosphere with every moment of hope from RABU being latched onto as he tried to slay the monster, every forearm, every glimmer of light, the East Kilbride audience were on it. This had a great presentation of Monstrum as he was a juggernaut that made him feel like an immovable force with his loss almost being down to sheer luck and three seconds.

Ronan King defeated The Big Strong Man by pinfall.

It was a wild reaction for The Big Strong Man with Ronan King relishing in the villainy he could get away with. Despite getting the better of The Big Strong Man early, a reset prepared for a big strong tactical adjustment to send Ronan all over the place.

An eye rake put King back in control followed with boots to the big strong head of The Big Strong Man as the cries for The Big Strong Man got louder and louder. The Big Strong Man fired up with clotheslines and a suplex out the corner, with a back suplex gaining a near fall.

King deployed another eye rake to get back into the match but The Big Strong Man barreled through to land a back suplex-uranage. The big strong spear was set up but King dragged the referee into the path to put a stop to the attack. The distraction allowed Ronan to fire into The Big Strong Man with an elbow to the face and plant him with a twisting Samoan Drop for the three.

Another really solid match that played well into the audience. Ronan being the ever so wily bastard to cut off The Big Strong Man at the peak of his momentum to drive it back down to zero showed a lot of cerebral tenacity. The big strong support continues for The Big Strong Man in Community Pro Wrestling wherever they go.

Danny Miller defeated Chip Watson by pinfall.

Miller gave Chip little time to get comfortable by running full force in with a forearm as the bell rang. Watson tried to swipe Danny away but he was soon back with a DDT to keep Chip on the backfoot, and keeping the pressure on The Tribal Chef.

Chip fired back with a German Suplex and lariat, launching Miller with a pumphandle overhead throw but a Superscran Punch was avoided as the battle raged onto the apron with dueling forearms. Miller put a stop to it with a DDT onto the edge of the apron that landed with a sick thud.

Danny tried a brainbuster to scramble the contents of Chip’s skull further but Watson avoided it with a cutter. Watson tried a burner hammer but it was nicely countered and Danny Miller got his brainbuster, that and a running knee still couldn’t keep Chip Watson down.

Watson grabbed Miller as he attempted a standing moonsault that exposed a bit more than intended, and smashed him with a one armed powerbomb, quickly followed by a Burning Hammer but Danny somehow got the shoulder up. Chip went up top but thanks to a timely push of the referee into the ropes by Miller, Watson lost his balance and was powerslammed down to give the youngster the win.

A balls to the wall sub-10 minutes of action where it didn’t let up for a second. The feral nature of Danny Miller is great as he just keeps going with all the piss and vinegar that the youth possess. The initial rush from Miller snapped Chip out of his frolicsome demeanour and we got a bit of the old Charlie Watson showing up as he tried to drive Miller through the mat. A great match and Danny Miller continues to shine with Chip Watson getting to showcase that he isn’t a one dimensional character.

East Kilbride Street Fight – Ravie Davie & Big Ross Hauser defeated Nick Justice & Mr Wanderer by pinfall.

Davie used his usual tricks to torture Wanderer and Justice, taking them both down with ease thanks to wet willies and shoulder barges before bringing Big Ross Hauser into the equation. Nick Justice thought he had the answers with a couple chops but got a big chop in return and sent spinning around and around and around with a big swing.

Wanderer dragged Justice out to stop a chokeslam and tried to escape but Ravie Davie declared that the match was now an East Kilbride Street Fight.

The CPW mega powers went to retrieve Wanderer and Justice, with Davie having kids line up to put the boots to Nick Justice. The chaos reigned around the hall, Wanderer tried to use an inflatable hammer which Big Ross brushed off.

For the second event in a row, Ravie Davie was sent through the fire exit but this time Justice followed to launch him head first into the ring van before closing the door and leaving Big Ross all by himself.

Hauser fought them off, throwing Wanderer overhead for a fallaway slam onto a groggy Nick Justice. It took a couple eye rakes from a double chokeslam attempt to finally get the CPW Heavyweight Champion on defensive, getting knocked down with a high uppercut-low sweep combo. A cutter from Wanderer and elevated DDT from Justice still couldn’t keen Hauser down while Ravid Davie was spotted crawling back to the ring.

The Fresh Prince of Drumoyne Square came back with punches after ducking a swing with the CPW title. A double Blockbuster almost wrapped it up but Danny Miller returned to pull the referee out of the ring and send Davie into the ring post but backed into a towering Hauser who chokeslammed Miller onto the apron.

As the match returned to the ring, Justice landed a Death Valley Driver to Big Ross, but couldn’t plant Davie who escaped and walked into a belt shot to the head. A confident Mr Wanderer tried the same with Hauser but the champion evaded and the title went square into the face of Nick Justice.

A big lariat from Big Ross and a Lisbon Lionsault from Ravie Davie sealed Mr Wanderer’s fate.

Pure mayhem in the main event with a fan favourite outcome. It was nothing fancy, just havoc from start to finish.

The crowd were nuclear once the main part of the show began and didn’t let up. There was plenty of variety with the sports entertainment from The Big Strong Man and Ronan King, some indy batterings from Chip Watson and Danny Miller, then a bit of pandemonium to close the night.
