After beating Ricky Saints, Shiloh Hill, Sean Legacy, Jackson Drake, Dion Lennox, and Keanu Carver in a ladder match for the title vacated by Oba Femi at New Year’s Evil in January, Joe Hendry is the new NXT Champion.
Marking a tremendous journey in WWE that has seen Joe defend the TNA World Heavyweight Championship, main event NXT PLEs, appear in the Royal Rumble match, wrestle Randy Orton at Wrestlemania, and defeating The Miz on Smackdown, Hendry is now holding WWE gold.
Following in the footsteps of fellow Scotsman, and current WWE Undisputed Champion, Drew McIntyre, Joe Hendry becomes the second Scot to win the NXT Championship.
Joe Hendry joins a legacy of Scottish champions in WWE that includes: Noam Dar, Wolfgang, Mark Coffey, Nikki Cross, Alba Fyre, and Isla Dawn.
The former Discovery Wrestling Y Division Champion made his final Scottish independent appearance in July 2025 where he ended the night holding the Discovery Wrestling Tag Team Championships in his hometown of Edinburgh.

Congratulations Joe Hendry, we continue to believe!
