We’ve picked up from where we left off last week in Tayport with the second part of Dundee & Angus Pro Wrestling’s return to the intimate venue.

Ian Ambrose defeated Luke Matthews by pinfall.

The episode kicked off with the former FCW Heavyweight Champion Ian Ambrose against the samurai sword wielding Luke Matthews. Ambrose came in relaxed, T-Posing, showing no ill effects off his recent title defeat.

A lock up ended in a stalemate with Ian Ambrose inviting strikes from Matthews. The crowd finally woke up after a dropdown-dropkick sequence that had Luke on the backfoot.

Matthews took exception to the offense, quickly striking to regain the advantage, slamming Ambrose to the canvas and wearing down the former champion. Ian found an opening for a sunset flip for a near fall, but was soon finding himself looking at Luke Matthews stepping up the turnbuckles and flying backwards with a spinning wheel kick.

Support for Ian Ambrose grew, which fed back to Ian rebounding from an Irish Whip into the turnbuckle to connect with a clothesline to start building momentum. A standing frog splash sent Matthews rolling to the outside with Ambrose diving through the ropes to meet him at speed.

Ambrose missed a double foot stomp that once again allowed for Luke Matthews to unleash a flurry of punishment. The pop up knee was countered into an Ian Ambrose Sharpshooter, which was broken up quickly with a rope break. Luke managed to land the pop up knee but couldn’t finish the job due due to Ambrose dropping to a knee before the his head could be kicked off his neck.

The two battled back and forth, Matthews set up another striking to the head but it was ducked for Ian to jump up to land a cutter to keep Matthews down for three.

These two worked hard to get a quiet crowd invested into the match, it took a couple minutes but once they were hooked it made every move more meaningful. The swings in momentum were solid.

Sebastian Asher defeated Lex Loomis by pinfall.

The main event of the episode was referee Lex Loomis making his singles match debut against FCW Tag Team Champion Sebastian Asher of DE.

Asher took charge with the early lock up, Loomis managed to counter but felt the open palm of Sebastian Asher pie facing him to break the hold. The Ash-hole chants started with Sebastian belittling his opponent as being “just a referee”. It fired up Lex to bust out some forearms to rattle Asher, who responded in kind.

A hip toss by Loomis had Sebastian scrambling to the outside, Lex followed to the outside to roll Asher back in. Asher landed a nasty elbow drop when Loomis made his way under the bottom rope to once again take control.

Lex Loomis kept fighting back, hoisting Asher over with a locked up Fisherman’s Suplex for a near fall. Lex grabbed Sebastian while he attempted a spear, taking him down with a half straightjacket submission. Asher rolled Loomis onto his back to start a pin attempt to break the hold.

As Lex Loomis turned to reset, he found himself being speared by Asher to end the match.

It was a quick fade to black so there wasn’t time to hear the crowd digest the result, but it was a simple narrative of Asher bullying the referee-turned-wrestler which had the audience embrace and will on Loomis whenever he came back swinging.

Two fine matches made for an easy watch, Matthew Sweet sounds like he’s settling in a bit more on commentary which is helpful to add more story to the overall presentation.
