Only in wrestling does it make absolute sense to be producing and releasing a Christmas themed episode in May, but to do so on tropical heat-like evening just makes it all the more funny. We were back at The Queen’s Hotel in Dundee for A Fight Before Christmas (III), with decorations adorning the function room.
This edition opened with Oliver Green and Tommy Raiden hanging out in a car park, airing their grievances over Patryk Peterski, and their bad night at Fair City Rumble, ending with them officially forming The Justified.
King of the Class Crown – Johnny Pressley defeated Rich Money by submission to retain the King of the Class Crown.
Money took his time to get things going, and his attempts to bully Johnny Pressley around were quickly overturned to find Rich being taken corner to corner to corner to corner and having his head dunted off the turnbuckle.
An Atomic Drop from Pressley was countered with Dick Pesos holding on to a headlock for dear life, the release had Johnny trying to shake off the grip and left himself open for a chop block with Money targeting the left knee to damage Johnny’s dancing abilities.
Despite being down to one leg, Johnny Pressley jabbed at the jaw of Rich Money, but his couldn’t take advantage with his knee giving out while trying to lift his opponent and finding himself being taken back to the mat with a Dragon Screw.
Rich kept the pressure on the knee, twisting and jarring the joint which made building up momentum difficult for Pressley. Money slapped on a sleeper hold as the crowd chant grew for Johnny.
Johnny got to his feet to snap Rich back with a suplex, slowly dropping an elbow, and tentatively spinning Rich around with an Airplane Spin. Money stumbled and managed to kick Pressley’s leg out of his leg and connect with The Stroke.
Pressley got a shoulder up with an incensed Rich Money choosing to take hold of the charity bucket at the timekeepers table. The self-inflicted distraction saw Rich being taken off his feet for a Big Swing, transitioned over into a Sharpshooter that had Mr Money tapping out.
A crowd pleaser of a match. The attack on the knee was kept up, and it took a little bit of time for the audience to get going but as it went on the reaction got louder for Johnny Pressley for a satisfying conclusion.
Patryk Peterski appeared in a, I assume, different car park to challenge Oliver Green to come alone for their match.
Oliver Green defeated Patryk Peterski by pinfall.
After a bit of verbal jousting, and the semantics about what and what’s not a city, Oliver Green tried to get a head of steam against Big Paddy Cool. Peterski stood his ground for Green to run into him like a brick wall.
Patryk followed up by throwing Oliver with ease for a German Suplex, and had Green begging for mercy as he crashed to the mat via a sidewalk slam.
Oliver Green decided to play a bit of cat and mouse to get the high ground, rushing at Peterski while he re-entered the ring. A cannonball into the corner rattled The Iron Slav, but a second was missed for Patryk to return the favour and drive his hip into the face of The Sky Ripper.
A Pole-ympic Slam was stopped thanks to a rake to the eyes with Green striking at Peterski to keep Paddy close to the ground. Oliver locked in a submission which Patryk powered out of, driving Green to the mat with a short powerbomb. Green had enough and grabbed his chain to run at his foe.
Peterski got the wheels turning, Polish Hammers all round, catching Oliver Green from a springboard for a Spinebuster. A video package suddenly played with Ian Ambrose causing a distraction.
Green took advantage to pin Patryk with a crucifix sunset flip to steal the victory.
These two have a very slick chemistry, the mesh of power and speed worked well for a competitive match. Adding a story element to hook fans into seeing what happens next made for a positive fan experience.
A good episode of FCW Empire. Two solid matches to kick off the next couple weeks of Christmas themed content coming out of Fair City Wrestling.
