Pride Wrestling returned to Bridgeton Community Centre March 28th for ‘Put A Brick on the Accelerator’, after the success of ‘The Spy Who Pinned Me’, this event saw a lot of new faces and débuts for Pride and the crowd enjoyed every minute of it.

Christopher Saynt vs DCT vs Lou King Sharp

This bout was all about entertainment, a combination of wrestling and comedy as three of the best UK talents battled in the ring.

Saynt, one of the best overall wrestlers in the industry. DCT, one of the most charismatic wrestlers in the business. And Lou King Sharp one of the best new talents around by far.

All three showed the crowd why they are each held in high regard by wrestling fans across the country in this match.
Early on, Sharp chose to hide from his opponents as they tangled in the ring then DCT & Saynt brought him into the fold and all three entertained the fans with a series of athletic moves and hard slams, but in the end it would be DCT pinning Sharp with his finisher after he missed coming off the top turnbuckle to end a good bout.

Courtney vs Layla Rose with Jam O’Malley

At the last event, Courtney debuted in Pride Wrestling when she sided with The Gatecrashers as they faced Jam O’Malley and E.G Mackie with Alex Cavanagh. In an act of revenge after by Cavanagh, he got to choose her opponent in this event and selected, ‘The Barbiebreaker’, the destructive, Layla Rose.

The energetic Courtney attempted to match strength with Rose early on, but was only to knocked down with hard shoulder blocks. Relying on her speed, Courtney managed to hit a DDT and suplex to rock her opponent, however, Rose used her raw power to dictate to the match and despite Courtney’s  rebellious attempts to stop the flow, Rose used the ‘Barbiebreaker’ to get the pinfall.

O’Malley then introduced the crowd to the newest member of the Z-List, Layla Rose and then took the microphone…

“I’ve given 11 years of my life to professional wrestling and is this how you people treat me?! But you people cheer a troublemaker like Bobby Roberts! Well tonight Bobby, I challenge you to a funhouse of horror matches!”

Tag Team Championship Tournament Qualifier: The Forgotten (Glen Dunbar & Alex Cavanagh) vs Manteur Wrestling. (Daihlan Hendry & Manlon)

It was then time for the qualifying match for the New Tag Team Championship Tourament as The Forgotten, Glen Dunbar & Alex Cavanagh entered the ring and Dunbar took the microphone to a chorus of geers,

“Your looking at who’s gonna be the first Pride Tag Team Champions!”

Cavanagh and Dunbar showed there experience early on by jumping Hendry and Manlon, but recovering from the earlier onslaught, Manteur Wrestling fought back to produce some fantastic fluid tag team moves that impressed many of the fans and caught The Forgotten off guard several times during the match.

However, it was the calculating methods of The Forgotten that allowed them to seize the win and get closer to the Pride Wrestling Tag Team Championships.

Dave Conrad vs Matt Daly

Next up it was the other half of The Gatecrashers, Dave Conrad facing the man who was continuing his 80 day plus undefeated streak.

The strength and size of Conrad allowed him to take control of the match, using his several power moves, he had Daly down for a series of near-falls. Daly who appeared to have scouted out his opponent before the match had several counters to Conrad’s offence. And when Daly attacked Conrad’s left leg, Conrad had to overcome the pain to execute his monsterous running powerslam to get the pinfall victory.

Funhouse Of Horrors: Bobby Roberts vs Jam O’Malley

It was then time to see if Bobby Roberts would answer Jam O’Malley’s challenge, that he did as the crowd roared for there “100% Scottish Beef” hero.

The match immediately began with Roberts chopping O’Malley hard and he continued to pummel the Leader of the Z-List at the beginning of the match.

However, the devious O’Malley was never going to play fair in his Funhouse of Horror match as the rules were “anything goes”, he brought out the the steel tray and chair and used the tray to maximum effect.

The fan favourite, Roberts fought back from accidentally charging head first into a steel chair and viscous attacks to drop O’Malley back first onto children toys left in the ring to get the pinfall victory to leave the fans wanting more.

Viper vs Mr Byers

This match was the culmination of months of verbal and physical assaults from Mr Byers on Viper and it was time for her retribution.

Byers attempted to cut a promo on Viper before the match began until she decided to hear enough and strike. Then it was a tour de force from one of the best ambassadors of womens wrestling to take control of the match and systematically made Byers eat his words.

Despite him trying to fight back, it was one way traffic as she beat Bryers all over the ring and she took the victory with the Viperbomb.

N7 Championship: Lewis Girvan (c) vs Scott Renwick

One of the best talents in Scottish Wrestling at the moment, N7 Champion, Lewis Girvan faced one of the most ruthless individuals in Scottish Wrestling, Scott Renwick.

The two contrasting styles of the highflying Girvan tackled the ground assault from Renwick and this proved to have the crowd enthralled in the battle.

Both men traded offences to give fans a shinning example of a main event and the great wrestling of what to expect at Pride Wrestling. It was the Champion who would retain his Title in an extremely hard fought battle that left fans knowing the future of Pride is looking very bright with Girvan as their figurehead.
