Having been out since May with a broken ankle, Sammii Jayne is scheduled to return to action next month, with her WrestleZone return set for Aberdeen Anarchy X. On September 1st, The Queen of WrestleZone will issue an Open Challenge to anyone that wants to test themselves.

So with just one month to go until the day, let’s look at five possible opponents for Sammii to face on her return!

Isla Dawn

Isla Dawn will be making her return to Discovery Wrestling the following day in Edinburgh and as far as I’m aware, she’s not been booked on the 1st as of writing. Having been recently announced for the 2nd annual Mae Young Classic as well as being part of NXT UK’s women’s division, it would be a huge deal to have her as part of the tenth anniversary celebration. Plus, it’s a match that hasn’t happened in over two years (according to Cagematch at least). Sammii vs Isla has money all over it!

Charlie Morgan

Similar to the previous point, Charlie Morgan is also scheduled to be at Discovery the following day making her debut. Another member of the NXT UK roster, The Ace of EVE actually became the EVE Champion by beating Sammii (The Queen of EVE, if you will) at the start of May. From the clips I’ve seen of their encounter, it looks like it took the roof of the venue. In addition, Charlie hasn’t done too much in Scotland apart from Fierce Females and now Discovery (correct me if there’s more companies) so it would be great to see her expand in to this neck of the woods. Although she may have done it in the York Hall, don’t expect a dive from the Beach Ballroom’s balcony…

Viper

Viper is also set to be at Discovery Wrestling on the Sunday but unlike Isla and Charlie, she is someone very familiar to the WrestleZone fans. Throughout her three appearances in the north-east so far, she has pinned Sammii once while being pinned once herself and defeated in a Tables Match at last year’s Aberdeen Anarchy. Viper was also injured in the same match as Sammii at ICW, although her injuries weren’t as bad. Wouldn’t hurt to have another battle between the two belt collectors!

Anastasia

I know what you’re thinking, Anastasia only debuted in June and is already being classed as the best up and coming female athlete in Scotland. She is really good though, and she has Sammii Jayne to thank for that. I believe Billy mentioned in a previous article that this match would be better with a proper build up and while I agree with him on that, perhaps they can have this one and then do a proper angle down the road at some point. Either way, it’s a match that’s bound to happen at some point!

Little Miss Roxxy

WrestleZone have tried to book this match on two separate occasions, once cancelled due to the adverse weather in March and the second due to Sammii’s unfortunate ankle injury. The pair’s work in other promotions has been superb and I think they could do something really special with an audience of 1000+. What better place to finally have the match in WrestleZone than the biggest event of the year?

Perhaps it’ll be someone else. Perhaps it’ll be more than one person answering the call. The only way to find out is to stay tuned to WrestleZone’s social media channels and the only way to see the match first-hand is by being at the Beach Ballroom on September 1st!
