Hello, and welcome to my second ‘How I Would Book”. This time, I’m going to take you through how I would book the return of Crusher Craib, as well as his first year of being back in the ring. ‘The Creator of Carnage’ is currently out of action with a broken hip socket, which he suffered at Aberdeen Anarchy in a match against Scotty Swift.
To start off, Crusher Craib starts putting up cryptic messages on his Facebook page to give rumours on when he might appear. Then, at Battle of the Nations, during the main event Undisputed title match between champion Scotty Swift and challenger Damien, the ominous bell sounds. The referee has already been taken down and Crusher Craib bursts through the curtain and storms the ring. Before anyone has a chance to do anything, he boots Swift in the face! He pulls off his hoodie and reveals a Sterling Oil t-shirt, joining the group he was once a part of. Crusher tells his former rival to pin Scotty and yanks the ref to his feet. Damien gets the three and is crowned the new Undisputed Champion in his second reign, after being the very first champion. They are joined in the ring by Shawn Johnson, Richard R. Russell and the Sterling Brothers, who won the tag titles earlier in the night. Sterling Oil stand tall as they are back on top of the WrestleZone once again.
Over the next few shows in Banchory, Keith, Brechin and Balmedie, Crusher helps Damien retain his Undisputed title against challengers such as Johnny Lions and Bryan Tucker. But he also competes on these shows, and easily dismantles the likes of Lord Mr Malice, Cysto and the WrestleZone Dominator. It eventually rolls round to Halloween Hijinx in Inverurie, and Crusher faces the former Undisputed champion, Scotty Swift, while Damien defends in a Triple Threat against Johnny Lions and fellow Sterling Oil member Shawn Johnson. Crusher manages to defeat Scotty after a low blow behind the referee’s back followed by a Black Hole Slam for the three. In the main event, Crusher interferes in the title match and starts helping out Damien. Shawn gets angry and starts yelling at both Crusher and Damien. But when he turns around, Damien superkicks him in the back of the head. Both him and Crusher beat down on Johnson as Richard R. Russell starts clapping. Shawn Johnson has been kicked out of Sterling Oil, and then Damien and Crusher nail the Tenacious One with a combination Superkick/Big Boot that allows Damien to retain his title.
Christmas Chaos comes around after a few weeks, and this time the main event is Damien defending the Undisputed title against Crusher Craib and Shawn Johnson in a Triple Threat Christmas Brawl. Shawn gets double teamed for the majority of the match, getting attacked with chairs wrapped in tinsel, kendo sticks that are made to look like candy canes and sledges. But with the Undisputed title on the line, it’s not long before Crusher and Damien start having words. Damien turns around and gets taken down by Shawn, who nails a huge Hangman’s Facebuster onto a chair, but he gets tossed out of the ring by Crusher, who takes the pin for himself to become a three time Undisputed champion. Richard R. Russell tries to keep the two from fighting after the match, with referees, management and the Sterling Brothers also having to help out.
As we start 2017, Crusher has his first title defence at Summerhill Showdown where he defends against Damien, with Richard R. Russell in both men’s corner. The referee eventually gets knocked down, which leads to the Sterling Brothers making their way down to ringside. They enter the ring, and Alan grabs Damien’s head to nail a vicious DDT! He gets the ref to regain conciousness and Crusher gets the win to retain his title. Russell gets on the mic afterwards and declares Damien is no longer affiliated with Sterling Oil. It’s down to just Russell, Craib, William and Alan. Crusher doesn’t put his title on the line for the next three events in Montrose, Newtonhill and Peterhead and instead faces challenges from people such as Cysto and Bryan Tucker.
Crusher again doesn’t defend his title at the Regal Rumble, but instead teams with William and Alan in a Winner Takes All match. Just to clarify, if Crusher isn’t pinned then he retains. Same for either of the Sterling Brothers. Anyway, they made the Open Challenge to be accepted by any three men. Out first comes Scotty Swift, to a great ovation from the Northern Hotel crowd. The next song that plays is Damien’s theme. But what no-one expects is Damien to come out with a friend, that being Johnny Lions! Revolution has reformed. The match is a close battle, but it’s eventually Damien that gets the pin on Alan Sterling, meaning Revolution are two time champions but Crusher Craib retains. Later in the night, Aspen Faith manages to win the 2017 Regal Rumble match to secure his place in the main event of Aberdeen Anarchy.
On the road to the Beach Ballroom, William and Alan repeatedly walk out on Crusher, claiming he’s brought them down. We arrive at the Beach Ballroom, with Crusher vs Aspen main eventing. It’s a very close battle, but Aspen eventually manages to nail a Knee Trembler followed by locking in his old Altamont Clutch for the submission victory and his first taste of gold since the summer of 2013. This doesn’t sit well with Crusher, as he absolutely destroys the King of Catch after the match. William and Alan come out to stop him but soon join in, revealing that what they said was all a lie. Following this show, William and Alan continue defending their Tag Team titles against various teams, while Crusher tries to regain the Undisputed title from Aspen Faith. So, Sterling Oil essentially are no more as they all go their seperate ways.
That’s how I would book Crusher’s return and third Undisputed title run. Now, let’s see how WrestleZone do it…
