Hello, and welcome to another edition of Adam’s Top 10. With women’s wrestling rising to the top recently, we’re going to take a look at 10 of the greatest female wrestlers in Scotland.

– Adam Morrison

10. Molly Spartan

Molly Spartan is one of the standouts of the Glasgow Pro Wrestling Asylum, ICW’s training school. I like to think of her as the Nia Jax of Scottish wrestling, she’s not like most girls. She always makes an example out of whoever it is she faces. Quite possibly a future ICW Women’s Champion.

9. Courtney

Number 9 on this list is Courtney, another relative youngster in the Scottish women’s divison. After being trained by Mikey Whiplash and Big Damo, she’s obviously going to be terrific in the ring. She may not be too far into her career, but she is by far the future of women’s wrestling in Scotland.

8. Bete Noire

Another trainee of Big Damo and Mikey Whiplash, Bete Noire is someone you do not want to mess with. Although she has been competing in Japan a lot lately, she is one of the best women’s wrestlers in the world. She may not be high up on this list, but she is by far one of the greatest wrestlers in the world.

7. Carmel

The current ICW Women’s Champion comes in at number 7 in the form of Carmel. The Pipebomb Princess makes sure to leave her mark everytime she steps foot in the ring. Her rivalry with former boyfriend Liam Thomson is one that I thought was put together so well, so props to ICW for that. She definitely needs to be booked in more companies, maybe even bringing her greatness to the United States.

6. Lucy Cole

Despite not being as far into her career as others on this list, Lucy Cole has been impressing me whenever she steps inside that ring. She always puts on a good show no matter her opponent. Her match against Sammii Jayne from WrestleZone Battle of the Nations last Saturday proved just that. Definitely a match I’ll be playing back when the DVD comes out.

5. Debbie Sharpe

Debbie Sharpe is probably most well known for her friendship with Sammii Jayne as the BAE Club. Always putting on terrific matches against each other, Debbie and Sammii gel so well together. In my opinion, these two are the Scottish version of WWE Hall of Famers Trish Stratus and Lita.

4. Kay Lee Ray

Kay Lee Ray, the only female member of The Black Label, the Queen of Hardcore, 1/2 of the Filthy Generation. Whatever you want to call her, there’s no shadow of a doubt that Kay Lee Ray is one of the best female wrestlers to ever grace the planet. I imagine she will win the ICW Women’s title in the very, very near future. With BT Gunn choosing the current champ Carmel to face Ray and Stevie Boy at Shug’s Hoose Party III, maybe this was a hint at a future title bout between the two.

3. Sammii Jayne

Sammii Jayne is one of the greatest technical wrestlers in the world today. She always manages to bust out one or two new moves in her arsenal in every match. Whether it’s a variation of a suplex or a new type of armbar, she comes up with new ways to beat her opponents each time. Every Scottish promotion with a women’s divison needs to have the Queen of Catch on their roster.

2. Viper

Viper is one of the most recognizable names in Scottish wrestling, and has also started making a name for herself over in Japan. She always proves that size doesn’t matter when she performs several dives to the outside. ICW made a wise booking choice when deciding to make her their first Women’s Champion. Personally, I think she’ll be signed by the big leagues very soon.

1. Nikki Storm

Quite possibly one of the greatest female wrestlers in the world today, Nikki Storm comes in top of the list. Now competing in NXT under her real name of Nikki Glencross, Storm has proved why she is the Best in the Galaxy time and time again. I think it’s only a matter of time before she wins that NXT Women’s Title.

That ends another Top 10 list. Next week, I’ll be taking a look at my 10 favourite stables in Scottish wrestling.
