The last two W3L shows took place during the second to last week of October, as did SSW’s monthly show at the Regal Theatre in Bathgate, with that show and W3L’s Saturday show in Glenrothes taking place on the same day. This would be the first time I would be doing two different shows for two different companies in one day, but all three shows had the potential to be good ones.

The Rothes Halls in Glenrothes is always well attended when W3L comes to town and this year was no different. The event was a taping for W3L’s ‘Championship Showdown’, which will be airing on the W3L Network (www.w3lnetwork.com) very soon and myself and Johnny Lions would find ourselves opening the show against the team of Liam Thomson and Aspen Faith, two very formidable opponents that are well versed at tag team wrestling.

The rest of the bill included Kevin Williams and Jason Reed face The Contingency Plan, as well as Mike Musso and Nathan Reynolds engaging in another bout that was essentially 45 minutes of back and forth twists and turns. Once the W3L show was done though, it was off to Bathgate for SSW’s annual ‘Guts and Glory’ event, a Halloween themed show that saw myself and Benedict Thatcher against Wee Jay Smalls and Dylan Angel in the opening contest for the evening.

This match would be Benedict’s first tag team match and he did very well, with us having decent chemistry throughout the match and shunning the audiences heckles, especially when they pointed out Benedict’s apparent resemblance to Justin Bieber. Smalls and Angel were good in their own right though, with them rattling us with a barrage of aerial manoeuvres and picking up the win. The show also included a championship contract signing between Kaiden King and Mikey Ratings, with the match for the SSW Worlds Championship taking place on the 19th November at SSW’s annual ‘Regal Rumble’ event.

W3L would have their own Halloween-themed event the following day in Dunbar, which featured Sara defending her Women’s Championship versus Sammii Jayne and the ‘Trick Or Treat Rumble’, which featured W3L roster members dressed up in Halloween attire. I would be double teamed almost from start to finish in this rumble, but I ended up being the last one eliminated after Nathan Reynolds avoided my ‘Chokeslam From Heck’ attempt. One day, I will be successful in connecting with that move.

Once the Dunbar show was all said and done, that was it for another series of shows. The next W3L show takes place on Wednesday 28th December at Pettycur Bay Holiday Park in Kinghorn, Fife, with tickets now being available at www.w3lwrestling.com and the show being the perfect opportunity to spend Christmas money and to avoid the madness that is the Boxing Day sales! SSW’s next show takes place at the Regal Theatre in Bathgate on 19th November and Blackridge Wrestling are hosting their ‘Joker’s Are Wild’ tag team tournament at the Craig Inn Centre in Blackridge on Saturday 3rd December. Next week will be detailing what I learned at the Paul Tracey seminar I recently attended and how I put all of my learning experiences into further practice. Until then, that is the Life of Smith. Good day.
