A true Scot, even if he wasn’t technically. We adopted him as one of us. A pioneer on the mic and a Legend to all. Rest in Peace Hot Rod.

I was initially going to record a video on my thoughts on Roddy Piper’s passing. But I hope the written word will do him justice. It won’t, but I can try. I won’t pretend to know everything about “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, I wouldn’t even say he was a friend or that I had a strong connection to him personally. I had the honour to meet him twice and in life I cherish those moments as he was a gentleman, a professional and a Legend.

I have said it before but without him I wouldn’t have gone to Perth to watch my first Scottish wrestling show, I wouldn’t have driven there and back, getting in after 1am after setting off 12 hours before. Without him I wouldn’t have been there to see the sport that I love and have become addicted too to the point that I started a website that you are reading this on.

I told him this when he came to Inverness for The Tour to Settle the Score and he was humbled. When he spoke about his life you could hear the passion in his voice, the fire in his eyes, Roddy Piper loved wrestling, loved the fans and the fans loved him. I wear my Frats t-shirt today as a tribute to him.

He was Glasgow’s adopted son, he was the Pride of Scotland in the Land of the Giants. He was Rowdy before Rowdy was cool, he changed the questions and will live forever.

Thank you Roddy Piper.
