Aspen Faith is the most technically gifted man in WrestleZone. His recent mixed tag team match with Sammii Jayne against Lewis Girvan and Debbie Sharpe at Christmas Chaos (Comes Early) should be enough for you to see his work.
Making his debut at the 2012 Cloverleaf Hotel show as a graduate of the WrestleZone Training Academy, he defeated Chris Archer in his first match. He spent the rest of the year facing the likes of Blue Thunder and Zack Dynamite.
At the first show of 2013, Aspen defeated Blue Thunder to earn the number 20 spot in the Regal Rumble. Things didn’t really go his way that night, he lasted just 3 seconds. Later on in the year, he stood in for Benjamin Steele and, alongside Steele’s partner James Midas, lost the tag titles to The Hotshots. Faith and Midas continued as a team and became known as Team S.M.A.S.H. They won the tag titles at the 2013 Proving Grounds event, but lost them the next month to Scotty Swift and Jay Lethal.
An 8 team tournament was then established to crown new champions, with Faith and Midas making it to the finals at the 2013 Halloween Hijinx show against the newly formed Thunder Buddies. Faith actually won the match for his team with his feet on the ropes, so the referee restarted the match and the Thunder Buddies won.
Going into 2014, Faith and Midas introduced a new member to their team, KT Kane. He also started having run-ins with British wrestling legend Len Ironside. Len was given the time to make a speech at the Regal Rumble in March which Faith interrupted. He challenged Ironside to a match at May’s Aberdeen Anarchy. Len initially refused but after being called a coward, the match was set. Faith then nailed Len with a forearm strike and was tackled by WrestleZone ring announcer Martyn Clunes. Later in the night he entered the Regal Rumble. He was immediately attacked and tossed out for his actions.
He and the rest of S.M.A.S.H were forced to change in the parking lot and enter from the fire exit. The Aberdeen Anarchy match was made into a World of Sport Rules match, with Aspen having his seconds as Midas and Kane while Len had World of Sport legend Marty Jones. Faith won the contest 2-1 with his feet on the ropes and afterwards, him and Midas were floored by the British Legends. Faith spent the next few months making everyone submit, earning him the nickname “The King of Catch”.
The following September in Brechin, Aspen won a battle royal to earn an Undisputed title match at Halloween Hijinx. He was unsuccessful in his challenge and then again in the rematch in Huntly. He rounded off 2014 with a loss to The Hotshots at Christmas Chaos. Mind you, his partner was the Super Executioner.
Faith started 2015 off with a loss at the final Cloverleaf Hotel show. He entered his third Rumble in March. Despite lasting longer than both his previous years, he was still eliminated. Len Ironside then made his entrance, but was attacked by Faith who stole his British Empire and Commonwealth Middleweight title. Len issued the challenge for an Aberdeen Anarchy rematch. Aspen asked for a tag match and chose Johnny Lions as his partner. Len accepted and chose WWE Legend Hardcore Holly as his partner. Len and Holly emerged victorius with Len reclaiming his belt and retiring.
Aspen spent the next few months on a bit of a losing streak, before teaming with his new partner Sammii Jayne to defeat Grado and Nikki Storm at Battle of the Nations. He then won his three matches in September against Shawn Johnson in Banchory, Bryan Tucker in Keith and Blue Thunder in Brechin, all part of his ‘#BreakTheBlue Tour’. He then faced and lost to Crusher Craib in Balmedie.
Faith posted a video requesting a challenge for Blackburn and WrestleZone management gave him Cysto. Aspen won that match and his match against Shawn Johnson in Huntly, before teaming with Sammii against Lewis Girvan and Debbie Sharpe at Christmas Chaos (Comes Early). The match was phenomenal, with Faith even breaking Girvan’s finger. Lewis eventually submitted Aspen with a crossface. Aspen rounded off 2015 with a DQ loss to Scotty Swift in Ferryhill.
Aspen also made his debut for several other promotions in 2015, including Discovery Wrestling, Rock N Wrestle and ICW. Here’s hoping he wins gold in the very near future.
