Hello, and welcome to this week’s edition of Adam’s Top 10. On this week’s edition, I will be counting down my Top 10 moments from WrestleZone’s 2016 Aberdeen Anarchy, which took place this past Saturday. What a show it was!

10. The New Bryan Tucker

Ever since Shawn Johnson turned his back on Bryan Tucker last November, Tucker decided to move on from wrestling. That was until March when he made a surprise return to cost his former parter the Regal Rumble match. The two had a match this past Saturday night and Bryan appeared more dangerous than ever in an attire that reminded me of Jack Jester. A new attire, a new entrance theme, a new Bryan Tucker. This new attitude is great.

9. Crusher Craib’s Paint

Crusher Craib always brings out his mask and face paint for big matches. Aberdeen Anarchy was no different, as the ‘Creator of Carnage’ took to the stage wearing a skull mask. After removing it, he revealed menacing red and silver face paint. I’m not sure if it left an impression on his opponent on the night Scotty Swift, but it sure did leave one on me. While I’m typing this, let’s wish the big man a speedy recovery after he broke his hip socket during the contest.

8. The Character Of Lou King Sharp

In my opinion, Lou is not just ‘Your Mother’s Favourite Wrestler’ but he is also an extremely underrated talent. He plays his character so well and he showed it clearly this past Saturday night. When The Hurricane said he was hiding a little nugget in his tights, the 5″4 Glaswegian had one of his tantrums. It also produced a my favourite chant of the night “chicken nugget”. It’s only a matter of time before he wins gold. Remember to look sharp!

7. The Debut Of Viper

When I heard Debbie Sharpe was injured and wouldn’t make it to the show, I just had to wonder who Lewis Girvan was going to choose as his partner. Eventually, it was revealed that he had chosen Viper. Viper always impresses me whenever she steps into that ring and Saturday was just the same. Whether she was tossing Sammii Jayne into Aspen Faith’s private area or diving to the outside, she’s just so damn good. Hopefully WrestleZone book her again very soon.

6. Ballance/Xavier II

Bingo Ballance and Stevie Xavier had a great contest at the first Beach Ballroom event, so I was ecstatic when it was announced they’d be facing off again this year. In my opinion, the match wasn’t as good as the first time but it was still a great back and forth contest. Those two can do all sorts of flips that shouldn’t even be possible for the body to do. With Ballance coming out on top again, will they ever have another match or has Bingo proved to be the better man?

5. Past WWE Guest’s Finishing Moves

On the VIP Exclusive pre-show, Blue Thunder faced Lord Mr Malice. Towards the end of the bout, Thunder started performing the finishing moves of former WWE stars that have attended past Aberdeen Anarchy shows. He nailed Jim Duggan’s Three-Point Stance Clothesline, Billy Gunn’s Fameasser and X-Pac’s X-Factor before Malice’s butler Jeeves Winchester decided to get involved. Thunder locked him in Chris Masters’ Masterlock before dropping him to the ground. Malice and referee Dennis Law attempted to lift the poor butler to ringside but accidentally opened up his legs to Thunder to nail the Wassup, just like The Dudleys. Really enjoyed that little addition to the match.

4. Clash Of The Titans

When Big Damo made the challenge to Tatanka, I was expecting a hard hitting contest and that’s just what we got. The match was just as brutal as expected, with The Native American and The Beast of Belfast both putting it all on the line to win. Eventually it was the former WWE star that came out on top with a big Samoan Drop. This match was everything it should’ve been, even though it wasn’t exactly my cup of tea. Hopefully we see Damo back to The Granite City in the near future.

3. The Ladder Match

When WrestleZone had their first ever Ladder Match at Aberdeen Anarchy 2014, it was a brutal affair between The Thunder Buddies and The Hotshots. After the announcement of the second Ladder Match, I knew it would be just as good. It featured so many memorable moments. Kaden Garrick flipping Alan Sterling onto a ladder, Damien being powerbombed into a ladder to knock the Sterling brothers off the top, Mr P doing the helicopter spin with a ladder. But my favourite was Johnny Lions pulling Richard R. Russell from the top of the ladder, before catching him mid-air with a devastating Lion Cutter. Hopefully management book another one of these matches very soon.

2. The Conclusion Of Faith/Girvan

Over the last few months, us WrestleZone fans have been treated to some amazing matches between two of the greatest talents in the UK in Lewis Girvan and Aspen Faith. Whether it’s in singles matches or in mixed tag matches (Faith with Sammii Jayne, Girvan with Debbie Sharpe), you can always expect a great match between them. Unfortunately for us, the rivalry came to an end this past Saturday night as Faith and Jayne took on Girvan and Viper. In one of the best matches so far this year, it was Viper that got the win for her team with a brutal powerbomb off the top rope onto Sammii. With the rivalry now over, hopefully it means Aspen focus solely on the Undisputed Title.

1. Scotty Swift vs Crusher Craib

The main event from this past Saturday’s show saw Scotty Swift defend his Undisputed Title against the 2016 Regal Rumble winner Crusher Craib. What a match this was. Finishers being stolen, ring announcers being taken out, several close counts. The match also featured the ‘Creator of Carnage’ ascend to the top rope for a diving splash, which was missed, which resulted in Scotty retaining his title and an injury to Crusher. Hopefully the big man recovers very soon.

And that does it for another edition of Adam’s Top 10. There will be no editions for the next few weeks while I take a break from the topic. I will still come in with previews and reviews in the meantime. Goodbye!

In lieu of Adam taking a break from the Top 10 I’ll be putting up a few Top 10’s until he returns. If you would like to contribute a Top 10 list contact us!
