Welcome to another edition of Adam’s Top 10. Today, I’m going to take a look at my 10 favourite finishing moves from around Scotland.

10. Lewis Girvan’s Saturday Crush

Lewis Girvan’s Saturday Crush is the same move that has brought Finn Bálor/Prince Devitt success in every major promotion he’s competed in. While it’s brought Finn success, it’s also brought success to Lewis Girvan. He used this move to win the vacant Discovery Y-Division Title and has used it to win several contests. I’m certain it will bring him more success in whatever companies he competes in for the future.

9. Polo Promotions’ Pop-Up German Suplex

Polo Promotions are one of my favourite tag teams in Scottish wrestling, and their finisher is one of the more innovative ones I’ve seen. The Pop-Up German Suplex brought them a lot of success during their 413-day reign as ICW Tag Team Champions and continues to do so. Whenever they hit the move, you can be sure to see Polo Promotions’ arms raised in victory.

8. Big Damo’s Ulster Plantation

Big Damo is a dangerous man, and the Ulster Plantation is even more dangerous. Although he’s a big guy, Damo can still pull out jumping sentons, cannonballs and coast to coast’s. But the Irishman prefers to use a version of an electric chair driver named the Ulster Plantation to finish off opponents. This move brought him a lot of success during his career in the UK, but will it do the same as he starts his WWE career?

7. Alan Sterling’s DDT

I’ve never seen a more dangerous DDT than that of Alan Sterling. Since Sterling Oil’s reformation in May 2015, Alan has been using this move to finish off many opponents and almost used it to capture the Undisputed WrestleZone Title on a few seperate occasions. Although it never won him the Undisputed Title, it did help him start his 4th reign with the WrestleZone Tag Team Titles alongside his brother William. I expect to see this move win more gold for Alan in the future.

6. Noam Dar’s Champagne Superkneebar

Noam Dar, the first Israeli-born wrestling to be signed by WWE, utilizes a kneebar in order to make his opponents submit. Preferring to call it the Champagne Superkneebar, Noam has had plenty of success with this move. He managed to advance to the Semifinals of the WWE Cruiserweight Classic using it. Perhaps Noam will use this move to win the Cruiserweight Title in the future, now that he’s debuted on Raw after months of anticipation.

5. Aspen Faith’s Gyrocopter

Aspen Faith has had several ways to finish off opponents over the last few years but none have been so flashy as the Gyrocopter. The pumphandle flatliner is a great move for someone like Aspen Faith to use as a finisher. I thought Aspen was the only person to use this move but while watching WCPW True Legacy, I noticed Pete Dunne uses it aswell. Speaking about that, I’d love to see Faith vs Dunne. That would be a great contest.

4. Chris Renfrew’s Stoner

One of the most famous moves in professional wrestling history, Chris Renfrew uses the Stoner to shut down many opponents, even using it to win his first ICW World Heavyweight Title from Grado at the 2016 Square Go event. Like Stone Cold, this move is popular among wrestling fans and always gets a big pop whenever Renfrew pulls it out.

3. Stevie Boy’s Devil’s Halo

Stevie Boy is an extremely dangerous competitor so this finisher suits him perfectly. The Devil’s Halo (or the Canadian Destroyer for all you Petey Williams fans) is yet another variation of the piledriver. With the front flip added in, it makes the move that much more lethal. The Devil’s Halo is certainly fitting for someone like Stevie Boy, in terms of the physical move and the name he uses for it.

2. Joe Coffey’s AwRaBestFerTheBells

Joe Coffey’s discus lariat is as brutal as you’d imagine. The force he gets after performing the discus is surreal. Lariats in general are a favourite among wrestlers, with notable names including JBL and Stan Hansen. Joe Coffey joins these legends with the move that won him his first ICW World Heavyweight Title. As long as he keeps using it, he’s sure to bring more success to his flourishing career.

1. The New Age Kliq’s Killer Boots

No finisher is more brutal than the New Age Kliq’s Killer Boots. As Chris Renfrew lifts the opponent off the mat, holding onto their waist, BT Gunn dives off the top rope with a brutal double foot stomp. So many men have been shut down with this move. With The Young Bucks using boots covered in thumbtacks over in PWG, I think that’s something these two would utilize to make the move even more brutal. On the topic of that, who else would love to see The NAK against The Young Bucks?

That does it for another edition of Adam’s Top 10. Next week, I’ll be looking at my 10 favourite matches of 2016 as we head towards the new year.
