Preview: WrestleZone ‘Live in Peterhead 2017’

The road to the Regal Rumble continues this Saturday in Peterhead as the stars of WrestleZone return to the Palace Hotel, one of my preferred WrestleZone venues. With this being the second-last stop before the huge Rumble on March 18th, everyone will be there to make a lasting impression.

Scotty Swift, Zach Dynamite & Mr P vs Andy Wild, Aspen Faith & Kaden Garrick

The main event for this Saturday’s show will see a huge six-man tag bout between six of WrestleZone’s best. In this one bout, there are two former Undisputed Champions and four former Tag Team Champions. Scotty and Andy have been going back and forth since October when Andy snatched the Undisputed Title away from Swift but has since been stripped of the belt by Len Ironside after a controversial ending to the two’s match in Montrose. Kaden and Mr P have been butting heads since the former turned on the latter at Christmas Chaos after they failed in their venture for a 3rd tag title run. Aspen and Zach have both made it to the semifinals of the Tri-Counties Championship Tournament, just two steps away from making WrestleZone history. Plenty things going on in this main event to keep fans invested throughout.

WrestleZone Tri-Counties Championship Tournament: Quarterfinals
Bingo Ballance vs Damien

The third quarterfinal bout in the Tri-Counties Title Tournament will take place this Saturday in Peterhead as Sterling Oil’s Damien takes on a man making his first WrestleZone appearance since October, Bingo Ballance in a clash of former Undisputed Champions. Bingo eliminated Damien’s Sterling Oil partner Alan Sterling in the first round en-route to this bout with Damien, while Damien knocked out Jason Reed. These two have such different wrestling styles, with Bingo preferring to take to the air during his matches while Damien focuses on just inflicting pain on his opponents. The winner of this bout will face Zach Dynamite in the semifinals, just two steps away from making WrestleZone history. Unfortunately for them, only one man can go forward.

Chris Archer vs Alan Sterling

Also signed for this Saturday is Alan Sterling squaring off with 1/2 of the Tag Team Champions, Chris Archer. The Sterling Brothers have been angered after claiming the tag titles were stolen from them by The Rejected back at Summerhill Showdown in January, with management refusing to reverse the decision to accompany Richard R. Russell’s demands. Alan has been on a hell of a run recently since ditching the whole lord character at Aberdeen Anarchy 2015. The Sterling Brothers still have a rematch clause they can cash in whenever they wish, and you can imagine that when they do, they’ll do whatever it takes to regain those tag belts.

Mikkey Vago vs William Sterling

William Sterling will also compete in Peterhead as he faces old rival Mikkey Vago. The history between these two dates back at the last ever show at the Cloverleaf Hotel in January 2015, as Mikkey Vago made his main roster debut to save Chris Archer from defeat at the hands of William Sterling. Mikkey would then go onto hold an undefeated streak until April of that year as he suffered his first loss to William in Westhill. With The Rejected now holding the tag gold in their second reign, Alan and William are desperate to take the gold back home for the Sterling Oil corporation.

Jimbo Bannon vs Lord Mr Malice

Lord Mr Malice will return from his winter break to face Jimbo Bannon in Peterhead. Bannon has had a relatively rough start to his WrestleZone career, being eliminated in the first round of the Tri-Counties Title Tournament at the hands of Andy Wild and losing a British Rules match to Aspen Faith at the end of 2016. The last time we saw Lord Mr Malice was at Christmas Chaos when he and Jeeves Winchester dressed up as Santa and an elf to ruin Christmas for the fans, as they do. After losing a triple threat to Shawn Johnson earlier this month in Montrose, Jimbo will look to get momentum if he hopes to secure his spot in the Rumble match.

Triple Threat Match
Shawn Johnson vs Blue Thunder vs Johnny Lions

The final bout signed for this Saturday sees Shawn Johnson, Blue Thunder and Johnny Lions do battle in a triple threat match. Shawn was victorious in another triple threat earlier this month in Montrose over Mr P and Jimbo Bannon, picking up the only Sterling Oil victory of the night and, so far, year. Johnny Lions will look to rebound from his loss in the quarterfinals of the Tri-Counties Championship Tournament, especially with the Regal Rumble just around the corner. Meanwhile, Blue Thunder will have to shake off some ring rust, with this match being his first bout since November of last year. All three competitors will have the opportunity to build momentum ahead of March 18th.
Tickets for the show are available from www.ringsideworld.co.uk, priced Β£12 for adults and Β£10 for under 14s. These will gain you priority entry into The Palace Hotel. Pay at the door entry will also be available on the night. Doors open at 7pm, with the action set to kick off at 7:30.
