The Life of Smith: Pro Wrestling Impulse Preview – The Revival

This Saturday will see Pro Wrestling Impulse host ‘The Revival’, their first show of the year at the Lochside Club in Dumfries in what is turning out to be a solid bill. Despite the long journey there, the long journey home and the very late time I usually end up getting home, I am looking forward to making my return to Dumfries. Previous shows have seen me wrestle in TLC Matches, rumbles and I was once embroiled in a ‘Milkshake War’ with Nathan Reynolds that was eventually decided elsewhere.

The show will see the “Best Young Wrestler in the World” Lewis Girvan compete against GPWA graduate Mayhem X, in a match that puts Girvan’s technical prowess against Mayhem X’s high octane style. Girvan does have the experience advantage going into this match, which could be the deciding factor of this contest. He also had an eventful 2016 as a regular for ICW, wrestling international star Ricochet at their SSE Hydro show and is looking to carry the momentum he gained last year into this year.

Craig Stephens recently won a legal case against Pro Wrestling Impulse host Paul Geddes, which was aired on ITV’s Judge Rinder. This victory seems to have gone to the head of Stephens, who will be hosting a “victory celebration”, where he will be joined by Britain’s Got Talent, Got To Dance and Coach Trip stars Z and Saffire, who happen to be the parents of Stephens. It will be interesting to see what happens and where this new attitude and influence from his ‘celebrity’ parents takes him, especially given that it has caught the attention of Bobby Roberts, a man familiar to ICW, SWA, Source Wrestling and CPW fans and a man that was in the army before becoming involved in this sport back in 2011.

There will be a tournament taking place for the Pro Wrestling Impulse Championship. The participants will be Mike Musso, Davey Blaze and Flex Hunter. I have competed against Flex and Musso on numerous occasions and have wrestled on the same bill as Blaze, so it will be interesting to see how this tournament pans out, with all three men being renowned for their hard-hitting heavyweight styles of wrestling. I have received word that Johnny Lions will not be able to attend the show due to a family emergency. I have known Johnny for a long time and have been teaming up with him recently, so I do wish him and his family all the best.

As I write this, yours truly has not been announced for a match yet. I will be at the show this Saturday and judging by the announcements made, Lucha DS will be at the show, but his opponent has not been announced. I have heard rumours of who I will be participating and if it is Lucha I am participating against, there is no doubt it will be an interesting contest. We have briefly clashed in a SSW Battle Royale and in a tag team match at Blackridge Wrestling, but this Saturday could see us going one-on-one for the first time. 2016 was a great year for Lucha, with him wrestling for numerous promotions across the UK, such as PBW, Source Wrestling, 4th Generation Wrestling and Pro Wrestling Legion. There is no doubt he will be looking to make 2017 an even better year, but so am I!

As well as the show this Saturday, Pro Wrestling Impulse will be hosting another show on Sunday 2nd April, again at the Lochside Club in Dumfries. If you are in the area or even a bit further afield, I would recommend attending both shows and going to the Pro Wrestling Impulse Facebook page for more information in regards to them. You can also check out my Facebook page for news and info on everything Smith. Until then, that is the life of Smith. Good day.
