On the second day of Christmas, my true love gave to me, ICW Appetite for Destruction and WrestleZone Battle of the Nations 2015.

ICW made their debut at The University of East Anglia in Norwich on October 17th 2015 as part of their Road to Fear & Loathing VIII tour.

The show kicked off backstage, where Grado was confronted by Big Damo. The Beast of Belfast told Grado that he wasn’t winning matches whenever he was clowning around, but Grado fired back by telling Damo to let him do his own thing. A pumped up Grado then headed down the hallway to prepare for his match later in the night with Joe Coffey.

Mikey Whiplash def. Lewis Girvan by Pinfall

Down to ringside as we had Billy Kirkwood and Simon Cassidy handling commentary duties. Straight into the first match of the night with Mikey Whiplash and Lewis Girvan already in the ring. The Best Young Wrestler in the World got things off to a hot start as he knocked The Necromancer out the ring before connecting with a suicide dive. Back in the ring with both men exchanging stiff forearms and kicks to the jaw, before Whiplash attempted a Zombie Maker on two occasions. Girvan countered the second try by going down for a sunset flip but Whiplash sat down and hooked the legs for the pin in a matter of minutes. After the match, Whiplash congratulated Girvan for his determination and handed him the original design of the Zero-G Championship (or as Girvan would go on to call it, the ICW Catchweight Championship). Whiplash then offered his hand as a sign of respect, but Girvan flipped the bird and walked off.

Big Damo def. Wolfgang by Pinfall

The next match saw “The Beast of Belfast” Big Damo facing off with The New Age Kliq’s Wolfgang. The pair traded forearms early on before the action spilled out to ringside, with a steel chair being introduced by The Big Bad Wolf. Back in the ring, Damo dropped Wolfgang with a huge front dropkick before landing on him with a leaping senton. After avoiding an Ulster Plantation, Wolfgang headed up top and attempted The Howling but Damo moved out the way. The Irishman followed by planting The NAK member into the mat with an Ulster Plantation for the three count.

Jack Jester def. Lionheart by Pinfall

Up next was a huge singles match between Lionheart and The Black Label’s Jack Jester. Big King stalled in the early stages of the match, with a fan jumping the barrier after being challenged by Jester. As the match finally got started, it was all revealed to be a ruse as Jester poked Lionheart in the chest for the three count. Both men celebrated after the match to the dismay of fans who wanted to see a fantastic match between two of ICW’s best.

The cameras cut to backstage where Mikey Whiplash was standing by. Clearly angered by Lewis Girvan showing disrespect earlier in the show, Whiplash stated that when he was finished with The New Age Kliq after Fear & Loathing VIII, he was coming for Girvan so he could beat some respect into him.

Back to ringside as New Age Kliq members Chris Renfrew, BT Gunn, Zero-G Champion Stevie Boy and Kay Lee Ray entered from backstage. Renfrew proceeded to let everyone in attendance know that Norwich was now known as NAK Country. They were interrupted by Davey Boy and “The Best in the Galaxy” Nikki Storm. Storm told The NAK that Davey Boy had a problem with every member of them. They were then joined by The UK Hooligans for an eight person tag team match.

Davey Boy, Nikki Storm & The UK Hooligans (Roy Knight & Zak Knight) def. The New Age Kliq (Chris Renfrew, BT Gunn, Stevie Boy & Kay Lee Ray) by Pinfall

This match went all over the venue, including up to the merch tables with several competitors either being put through the tables or being hit with the broken tables. A plastic lid was smashed over the head of BT Gunn before the action returned to the ring. Chris Renfrew connected with a Stoner before being taken out himself while BT Gunn superkicked everyone in sight. With Davey Boy and Kay Lee Ray left alone, The Buckfast Barbarian ensured KLR wouldn’t be having children anytime soon with a kick right below the belt. Gunn then superkicked him aswell, before The UK Hooligans dropped him on his neck with a doomsday device they apparently call The Knight’s Tale for the win.

The cameras again went backstage where Big Damo said he was back to winning ways after Jack Jester got involved in his previous match. The Beast of Belfast said he was going to keep this momentum going in to his match with Jester at Fear & Loathing VIII.

ICW Tag Team Championships
Polo Promotions (Jackie Polo & Mark Coffey) (c) def. The 55 (Kid Fite & Sha Samuels) by Pinfall

The next match saw Polo Promotions putting their Tag Team Championships up for grabs against The 55. Fite and Samuels kept Coffey isolated in their corner while distracting the referee. After dodging a double superplex into a double crossbody off the top, Coffey tagged in TV’s Jackie Polo who took both members of The 55 on a journey to Scoop Slam City. After tossing Samuels onto the stage, The Real Deal dove onto him before the two brawled backstage. This left Polo to counter Fite’s Lockback DDT into a schoolboy rollup for the victory to retain their titles.

The camera again went backstage, this time to Lewis Girvan. Girvan said that Mikey Whiplash got a quick victory on this night before passing up on his offer for a rematch down the line since he has better things to do as the ‘true’ Zero-G Champion. The cameras then cut to The UK Hooligans who said that this wasn’t NAK Country, this was Norwich City. If there was any two people you didn’t want to meet in a dark alley, it’s The UK Hooligans.

Grado def. Joe Coffey by Pinfall

Back to ringside now as Grado took on Joe Coffey. With both men preparing for huge matches at Fear & Loathing VIII, the two were looking to pick up momentum ahead of, at the time, ICW’s biggest show in history. The Iron Man used his striking offence to take the early lead, but he then made the mistake of attempting a German suplex. Unable to lift the bigger man off his feet, Grado took the advantage but Coffey soon came back into it with an airplane spin and a giant swing. This disoriented Coffey however, leading to him picking up the win… over referee Thomas Kearins. After Grado kicked out of a Fall From Nebula, he connected with a Roll N Slice for a two count and then a Stevenson Roundabout for another near fall. The match continued with The Iron Man attempting his discus lariat but Grado blocked it and nailed a Wee Boot for the win.

The camera then went backstage where The New Age Kliq’s Chris Renfrew and BT Gunn said that when they were finished with Legion, they wanted The UK Hooligans to come to their territory of Glasgow and finish this two on two.

The cameras returned to the ring, where Joe Coffey told Grado to go Fear & Loathing and take that World Heavyweight Title from around Drew Galloway’s waist.

A promo aired for Fear & Loathing VIII before we cut to Grado and Joe Coffey backstage. Grado said he needed an opponent like Joe Coffey to prove that he was capable of defeating a man the calibre of Drew Galloway.

Drew Galloway def. Kenny Williams by Pinfall

As we returned to the ring, Kenny Williams was waiting for the arrival of ICW World Heavyweight Champion Drew Galloway. Galloway said that he wouldn’t be putting the title on the line on this night before Williams started a flurry of offence. He was soon cut off by the much larger Galloway, who tossed The Bollocks around the ring. The match headed into the crowd, with Williams diving off the ring apron with a cannonball over the guard rail. Galloway tossed Kenny into the wall before lighting up his chest with the stiffest of chops. Back in the ring, Galloway nailed an impressive delayed superplex before connecting with a release German suplex into the turnbuckles. After Galloway kicked out of a springboard Quiff Buster, Kenny headed up top but was distracted by Drew’s Black Label partner Jack Jester appearing on stage. Drew caught Kenny mid-air with a lariat before spiking him into the mat with a Future Shock for the win. Galloway and Jester then dropped Kenny with an aided Tombstone Piledriver as the show came to a close.

The show is available to watch right now on ICW On Demand.
