So here we are, night three of the Source Championship Tournament. Tonight will see the culmination of a 16-man single-elimination tournament with the winner becoming the first holder of the Source Championship. Before we have our last three matches of the tournament, let’s meet the four finalists!

Alexander Darwin MacAllan
First Round – def. Joe Coffey by Pinfall
Quarterfinals – def. Grant McIvor by Pinfall
Semifinals – vs Kieran Kelly
I’ll admit, Alexander Darwin MacAllan was a man I wasn’t too familiar with heading in to the weekend but he’s done a hell of a job thus far. Having defeated one of the biggest names in the entire tournament in the form of Joe Coffey, ADM followed it up with a victory over Grant McIvor in the quarterfinals last night. The Violence Institute member is a darkhorse to win the whole thing, whereas any of his opposition would’ve been a valid shout before the three nights got underway. A post-match attack on Kieran Kelly after the final match of night two may give him a slight advantage as we head towards crowning a champion.

Kieran Kelly
First Round – def. Jayla Dark by Pinfall
Quarterfinals – def. Craig Anthony by Pinfall to retain the Scottish X Championship
Semifinals – vs Alexander Darwin MacAllan
Kieran Kelly has had a hell of a year, becoming a full-time member of the ICW roster and capturing the Scottish X Championship from Dickie Divers at the end of March. A standout of the Source Wrestling School, Kelly defeated the only female competitor Jayla Dark in the first round before retaining his championship against Craig Anthony (a match I’ve heard great things about). With a much larger opponent awaiting him in the semifinals, it would be a huge mistake if Kieran decides to put his gold up for line again. Although I wouldn’t be against MacAllan as champion now that I’ve seen more of him…

Lewis Girvan
First Round – def. Sugar Dunkerton by Pinfall
Quarterfinals – def. Scott McManus by Pinfall
Semifinals – vs Mike Bird
Lewis Girvan had one of the toughest challenges in the first round in the form of American indy star Sugar Dunkerton but he still managed to come out victorious. The only problem with that win, as well as his victory over Scott McManus, is that he had help from Kings of Catch partner Aspen Faith. But if Aspen helps Lewis become the champion, surely he’ll have his eyes set on the gold? Another match between the pair would be excellent but don’t break up The Kings of Catch. It’s all I ask.

Mike Bird
First Round – def. David Devlin by Pinfall
Quarterfinals – def. MATT DALY by Pinfall
Semifinals – vs Lewis Girvan
Last but not least is Mike Bird. In his home of Wales, the former ICW Tag Team Champion has been tearing it up in promotions such as Dragon Pro and ATTACK! Pro. Bird returned to Source Wrestling for this tournament, putting away two undervalued talents in David Devlin and MATT DALY. A semifinal bout against Lewis Girvan waits for him in the next round, a match that will likely showcase a whole host of technical wizardry.
My pick to win the entire thing was Stevie Xavier but he had to pull out, so then my pick changed to Craig Anthony and he’s been eliminated. So heading in to the final night, I’ll go for a Kieran Kelly victory.
Also scheduled for night three;
- Andy Wild vs Rowan Frey
- The Hunter Brothers (Jim Hunter & Lee Hunter) vs KOE (Kai Williams-King & King Killa)
- Irving Garrett’s Open Challenge
- The Source debut of NXT UK star Jordan Devlin
