World of Sport Wrestling was back on our screens on Saturday evening for the third episode of the series, featuring the continuation of the Tag Team Championships Tournament and another defence of the WOS Championship. Let’s not waste any time, and take a look at the Scots that appeared on the episode!

Grado

Grado kicked off the show coming out in a suit for his match with Sha Samuels. The East-End Butcher made a joke at Grado’s attempt to be more serious, later attempting a piledriver on the ramp but taking a back drop for his troubles. After being given a cap by a fan, Grado proceeded to Hulk Up (brother brother) and revealed his trademark singlet. A Roll N Slice and a mid-air Grado Cutter gave Grado the three count.

Nothing too much to report on here, just the continuation of the story with Stu Bennett feeling as if Grado isn’t championship material. Grado’s suit was much different to the ones he wore during his time under contract to RUDO Sports and Entertainment Brand. The match itself was alright, as we should expect from Grado and Sha judging by their history.

Joe Hendry

Joe Hendry faced Martin Kirby this week, following on from Kirby walking out on Hendry in the first round of the Tag Team Championships Tournament on the first episode. A very back and forth contest, both men attempting their finishers throughout the match with the Freak of Nature and the Sable Bomb. The Hendry Lock was locked in at one stage, but Kirby got to the ropes to cause the break. A rollup with his feet on the ropes allowed Kirby to eventually pick up the victory.

This was a rather good match in my opinion. Hendry and Kirby are just two of the best in the UK right now. As you can see, Joe is on the biggest roll of his career seeing as he’s going to the likes of ROH, Impact Wrestling, and even the Commonwealth Games. It’s genuinely incredible to see the stuff he’s doing. Hope to see it continuing, guy deserves every single thing he gets.

If you enjoyed what you saw between Joe and Martin, they’ll be facing off again at Defiant Wrestling’s Stacked event on August 26th in Manchester. Tickets are available at wearedefiant.com, or watch online the next day!

Just Uz (Stevie Boy & BT Gunn)

The Tag Team Championships Tournament continued this week as the Just Uz pairing of Stevie Boy and BT Gunn debuted in some flashy jackets against CJ Banks and Brad Slayer. Stevie and Gunn are just so good as a team, using some terrific double team offence. It felt like Banks remained in the ring for the majority of the contest, with Slayer only getting in here and there. A Doomsday Device variation picked up the three count for Just Uz as they advance to the semifinals, where it looks like they’ll face Alpha Bad.

It was only the third episode, but it felt like ages waiting for Just Uz to debut. Stevie Boy recently lost a Loser Leaves The UK Match in ICW, so we’ll have to wait and see what that means for his WOS career. For now though, it looks like we’ll get him and Gunn against Kip Sabian and Iestyn Rees. I’m down for this to air!

Another good episode. It wasn’t my favourite so far, but it wasn’t necessarily a bad show, just personal taste. I’m not sure if having the WOS Championship defended every single week, but I guess it gives everyone a shot to win the title throughout the 10 week series. The stuff with Crater and Gabriel Kidd is mainly passable if I’m honest, nothing much to say about. Kidd was stretchered out after a splash so there’s that.

Next week will see Will Ospreay return to action against Martin Kirby, Kay Lee Ray making the first defence of her WOS Women’s Championship, plus appearances from Rampage and Crater!
