It’s that time of year once again when everyone decides to dress up as ghouls and goblins because that’s what October’s all about, right? The end of October always sees WrestleZone get in to the spirit of things with Halloween Hijinx, which emanates from the Kincorth Community Centre on Saturday evening. This night will see NXT UK star Kenny Williams make his return to the Granite City, his first appearance up north since January 2016. Along with that, names such as Damien, Zach Dynamite, and The Kings of Catch will be on hand to provide some top quality entertainment. Enough with this intro though, let’s see what matches WrestleZone management have in store for fans in just a few days time!

Irving Garrett vs Damien

For those who may remember, both current Undisputed Champion Damien and WrestleZone debutant Irving Garrett competed in May’s Drew Galloway Invitational Tournament. After the other 14 men had been ousted, Irving made Damien tap out to one of his many submission holds to be crowned the 2018 champion. The match, and the tournament as a whole, received rave reviews from those in attendance, and so a second match between the two was bound to occur at some point. Apparently, Halloween Hijinx 2018 is that point as they clash once more in a non-title match. In regards to the first encounter, you could say that Garrett had the advantage of being in his home promotion that led him to victory, which could come in to play now that they’re in Damien’s home. Only time will tell…

Triple Threat Match for the WrestleZone Tri-Counties Championship
Zach Dynamite (c) w/Bradley Evans vs Andy Wild vs Dickie Divers

Zach Dynamite has a tough test in store for himself if he hopes to leave Aberdeen with the Tri-Counties Championship intact. Not only does he have to defend against former champ Andy Wild, but also joining the fray is the returning Dickie Divers, a man not seen in a WrestleZone ring since April 2016 where he teamed with the man he’s replacing here Johnny Lions. Ever since Aberdeen Anarchy X last month where Bradley Evans rejoined him, Zach Dynamite has been near unstoppable, with successful defences over Scotty Swift and Blue Thunder. Had the best friends not been disqualified in Balmedie, they could’ve very well walked out of there with the Tag Team Championships. If Zach’s unlucky however, he’ll be leaving titleless (is that a word?) on Saturday. Both Wild and Divers are on career resurgences right now, and some championship gold (or in the latter’s case, more gold) around their waist would prove how well they’re doing.

Halloween Brawl for the WrestleZone Tag Team Championships
The Kings of Catch (Aspen Faith & Lewis Girvan) vs The Rejected (Chris Archer & Mikkey Vago) (c)

It’s an Aberdeen Anarchy X rematch for the Tag Team Championships, with The Kings of Catch again set to challenge The Rejected, this time in the annual Halloween Brawl. What does this mean I hear you cry? Any and all Halloween-related items are legal to use as weapons – inflatables, pumpkins, hatchets, the lot. Okay, maybe not the last one but you get my point. The previous two Halloween Brawls have been used to lighten the mood from some of the more intense matches on the card but if Aberdeen Anarchy was anything to go by, this will be anything but that. Aspen Faith and Lewis Girvan are the uncrowned champions in the eyes of many fans following that incident at the Beach Ballroom. They came so close to walking back through the curtain with the gold so if they do exactly what they did there with a little extra, then this is their night. Just for clarification – are announcer tables legal in Halloween Brawls?

Dog Collar Match
Scotty Swift vs Crusher Craib

I mentioned there about some of the more intense matches. In WrestleZone, does it get more intense than this? The rivalry between Crusher Craib and Scotty Swift has been brutal and chaotic, but fun to watch at the same time. It’s not too often you see two men that just want to destroy each other as much as these two do. Technically, this rivalry started all the way back at the 2016 Regal Rumble where Crusher won the namesake match to earn the right to challenge Swift for the Undisputed Championship at that year’s Aberdeen Anarchy. The rest as they say, is history. A more recent altercation came in Balmedie at the start of the month, where The Creator of Carnage cost Swift his bout with Jason Reed. A challenge for a Dog Collar Match was issued and later accepted. Prepare to wince at the amount of pain these two will be putting themselves through just to ensure the other stays down.

Jason Reed vs Kenny Williams

For the majority of 2018, Jason Reed has been on a crusade to Make WrestleZone Great Again. Since beginning this mission, he’s seen off names such as Bradley Evans, Kaden Garrick, Bryan Tucker, and Scotty Swift, along with a number of the recent WrestleZone Training Academy graduates. On Saturday however, he faces quite possibly his biggest task to date when he tangles with NXT UK star Kenny Williams. It’s been a breakout year for The Lucky Yin – not only has he been competing at the tapings for WWE’s new UK show, but he also had a one-off appearance on a May episode of 205 Live in a Fatal Four Way Match. He’s made two previous appearances in a WrestleZone ring, defeating Bingo Ballance and Shawn Johnson at Aberdeen Anarchy 2015 and then losing to Shawn at Summerhill Showdown 2016. If he puts his record at 2-1 by the end of the night, Reed’s campaign plans may come to a halt.

Kaden Garrick vs Alan Sterling

Two men that haven’t been on the rest run as of late will go one on one on Saturday evening when Kaden Garrick battles Alan Sterling. These two have quite a bit of history with each other as, back in 2016, Kaden was pinned to the mat for the first time in his career at the hands of Alan at Battle of the Nations. It’s not been all good for the Sterling brother since however – Sterling Oil are now broken up, and he was pinned by Cysto of all people. As a result, he’s enlisted the help of a new bodyguard to help him out, with this person set to be revealed on Saturday. Could it be Mr Malice? Or James Midas? Perhaps Malysto 2? All will be revealed come October 27th.

VIP Ticket Holders Pre-Show
Blue Thunder & Ryan Riley vs The Outfit (Dino Del Monte & Ted O’Keefe)

Those that purchased VIP tickets for this event will be treated to a bonus pre-show tag team match, featuring three of this year’s WrestleZone Training Academy graduates. On one side, you’ve got the fan favourite Blue Thunder teaming with the most recent graduate Ryan Riley, a man who impressed me very well in the Aberdeen Anarchy X pre-show Battle Royal. On the other side, you’ve got Dino Del Monte and Ted O’Keefe, The Outfit. Since their arrival in March, Del Monte and O’Keefe have picked up some pretty impressive victories, including a pinfall over the reigning Tag Team Champions The Rejected. With Dino’s vicious strikes (including his rolling elbow that I’ll never stop going on about) and Ted’s calculated sneakiness, they could very well be tag champs by the end of 2019.
