Gallus To Enter 2020 WWE Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic

In 2020, WWE will once again be holding the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic for the NXT brand, but for the first time, there will be four teams from the main NXT roster and the other four coming from NXT UK. The New Year’s Day edition of NXT revealed that the Gallus pairing of Mark Coffey and Wolfgang, the reigning NXT UK Tag Team Champions at the time of writing, will be entering the fray.

Alongside Joe Coffey, ‘The Power Forward’ and ‘The Regulator’ have been staples of WWE’s UK division since the Coffey brothers first united in WWE during the 2018 United Kingdom Championship Tournament. Since then, Mark and Wolfie have ran roughshod through the tag team division, eventually capturing the Tag Team Championships from Mark Andrews and Flash Morgan Webster on the October 17th edition of NXT UK.

Joining them in the tournament are;

  • The Undisputed ERA (Bobby Fish & Kyle O’Reilly)
  • The Forgotten Sons (Wesley Blake & Steve Cutler)
  • Pete Dunne & Matt Riddle
  • KUSHIDA & a mystery partner
  • The Grizzled Young Veterans (Zack Gibson & James Drake)
  • Imperium (Fabian Aichner & Marcel Barthel)
  • Mark Andrews & Flash Morgan Webster

In the quarterfinals, Gallus will go to war with The Undisputed ERA, with the winners of that bout scheduled to face either The Grizzled Young Veterans or KUSHIDA and a mystery ally in the semifinals. On the other side of the bracket, it’ll be Imperium vs The Forgotten Sons, and the team of Pete Dunne and Matt Riddle taking on Mark Andrews and Flash Morgan Webster.

The tournament will kick off later this year.
