Welcome to Starter For 10. We ask professional wrestlers 10 questions so that you can find out a bit more about your favourite real life superheroes.
On this edition, Daihlan Hendry answers our questions.

What drew you into professional wrestling?
Originally friends in primary school, who were wrestling fans, showed me The Hardy Boyz and Attitude Era WWE. However, I was banned from watching at home so I kinda fell away from it until I was about 14/15, where I flipped through channels on sky and came across ROH on HDNet and got hooked almost instantly and the rest is history.
Who were your favourite wrestlers growing up and who are your favourites now?
What made you decide to start training to be a wrestler and where did you start?
I started training at Area 52, later rebranded to Source Wrestling School, in Feburary 2011. I had moved into student halls while I was Uni and over the Christmas break I had no one really around that I knew. I found out that Area 52 was in Linwood, which was 5 mins on a bus away, I thought I’d give it a go and I’ve been training ever since.
Who are your biggest influences in professional wrestling, as a fan and as a wrestler?
As I said before Timothy Thatcher and ZSJ are big inspirations. I also take a lot of inspiration from guys like Jonathan Gresham, Minoru Suzuki, Shayna Baszler and Matt Riddle. Probably the biggest influences though are both Mikey Whiplash and Glen Dunbar as they have been instrumental in my development as a human being and a wrestler which I can only thank them for.
Who has been your favourite opponent(s) and do you have a favourite match?
I would probably say my match with Mikey Whiplash at Mount Vernon or my recent RPW title match at Source Origins against Robert Wishart (another person I need to shout out for trying to deal with the mess in my head haha). Both matches I learned an absolute ton and felt I showed what I want to do as a pro wrestler.
What has been your career highlight(s) so far?
Who would be your dream opponent, past or present?
There’s loads of people I would love to wrestle. Timothy Thatcher or Minoru Suzuki particularly in a hybrid/shoot style rules match would be incredible
Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?
Over the next 5 years I’d like to get a lot more experience with a variety of opponents. I want to do some hybrid/shoot style matches and eventually work on the wXw Ambition shows. If I manage that in 5 years I’ll be happy boy.
Where can we find you on social media?
And finally, why do you do what you do?
Honestly I do this because it simply keeps me happy, focused and disciplined. With my dyspraxia I always need something to focus on and give me a structure to organise my brain. With the framework from wrestling I have managed to develop a lot as a person and look forward to the next part of the journey.
Thank you to Daihlan for answering our questions.
