SWN Year End Awards 2021: Admin Award

I am honoured to announced that this year’s Outstanding Recognition Award for Extraordinary Service, and joining our SWN Hall of Fame, is Nikki Storm.

Born in Glasgow, Scotland and currently signed to World Wrestling Entertainment under the name Nikki A.S.H., Nicola Glencross began her wrestling journey in September 2008, making her in-ring debut at Scottish Wrestling Alliance‘s ‘The Gathering II’ event in front of over 2,000 fans adopting the name Nikki Storm.

Making her mark across the country, Storm has wrestled all over the world including Japan for World Wonder Ring Stardom and JWP Joshi Puroresu, and the United States for SHIMMER, Global Force Wrestling, World Xtreme Wrestling among others.

Along with her numerous appearances in Scotland including Insane Championship Wrestling, WrestleZone, Fierce Females, Pro Wrestling Elite, and Discovery Wrestling, Nikki found great success in Pro Wrestling: EVE in London, England. Debuting for EVE in 2010 and winning the EVE Championship three times. Tussling with future WWE superstars Viper (Doudrop) and Kay Lee Ray, including battling both to crown the first ever ICW Women’s Champion at the SECC in Glasgow.

In 2014, Nikki Storm appeared on Total Non-Stop Action Wrestling‘s British Bootcamp series before signing for World Wrestling Entertainment in April 2016, making her first televised appearance in August 2016 on NXT.

Now under the name Nikki Cross, her initial run in WWE was part of the Sanity stable that included Eric Young, Alexander Wolfe, and Sawyer Fulton, who was later replaced by Killian Dain.

Nikki made her in-ring NXT Takeover debut at Takeover: San Antonio event in January 2017, competing for the NXT Women’s Championship. After feuds with Asuka, Shayna Baszler, and Bianca Belair, Cross moved to the main roster officially in December 2018 and made her RAW in-ring debut the following January.

2019-2020 was the breakout of Nikki Cross, teaming with Alexa Bliss to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships, her first championship in WWE, on RAW against Peyton Royce and Billie Kay, and recapturing the titles on night one of WrestleMania 36 against Asuka and Kairi Sane. Marking Bliss and Cross becoming the first two-time WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.

After embracing her inner super hero, and rechristened Nikki A.S.H. (Almost a Super Hero) 2021 has seen Nikki win the Money in the Bank briefcase which she successfully cashed in against the then WWE RAW Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair to win the title, along with winning the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships with Rhea Ripley, making Nikki the first three-time WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion. Etching her name into WWE history.

Representing Scotland, her positivity and attitude, Nikki provides a role model for a young audience, and shows that you don’t have to have super strength, or super speed, but to have the inner strength and positivity to continue to get back up and believe.

We have bestowed Nikki with this award not only for her title winning accomplishments but for her using her platform to promote love and inspiration for all ages. A true hero and larger than life.

Congratulations to β€œThe White Chocolate Cheesecake of Sports Entertainment” Nikki Storm.
