8. A Tenacious Surprise

At ‘Christmas Chaos’ in 2019, Johnny Lions wrestled his final match before retirement. Battling alongside Scotty Swift, and losing the WrestleZone Tag Team Championships to William Sterling and Blue Thunder inside a steel cage.

Fast forward to 2022, and Lions was announced as the special guest referee for a match at ‘Aberdeen Anarchy’ between Evan Young and Bryan Tucker.

Earlier that week it was announced the Lee McAllister was injured and could not compete in his scheduled six man tag team match, teaming with Scotty Swift and Umar Mohammed to face William Sterling and The Outfit, but Scotty and Umar would reveal his replacement on the night.

As the silence filled the room at The Northern Hotel, a familiar opening rift and MAYBE I’M A LION played as Johnny Lions re-entered the ringside area, tore off his referee shirt, and declared it was JOHNNY TIME to an eruptious reaction.
