Fair City Wrestling are back at their home venue in Perth with their first show of 2023 and it promises to be one of, if not their biggest show to date. They have some huge singles matches on tap as well as a one-night tournament to crown the inaugural FCW Tag Team Champions.

FCW Tag Team Championship Eliminator – The Foundation of the Future (Zach Dynamite & Ryan Riley) vs Fair City Saints (Alex Webb & Air Myles)
From WrestleZone to Discovery and now to FCW. These two teams are potentially destined to fight forever and their latest battle will take place this Friday in Perth.
The hometown favourites got the victory and the WrestleZone Tag Team Championships when the two teams faced off up in Aberdeen last month and the Saints will be looking for another victory and qualification for the Triple Threat Final later in the night to add more gold to their collection.
Don’t count out the Foundation though as what better way to get revenge than to stop the Fair City Saints from winning the Tag Team titles of the Fair City?

FCW Tag Team Championship Eliminator – Red Gate (Jacob Deacon Wilde & Tommy Cross) vs Flips & Slips (Spike Tierney & Botchico)
Jacob Deacon Wylde and Tommy Cross of Red Gate take on the fan favourite Lucha duo of Spike Tierney and Botchico in a rematch from FCW’s Tayport event last July. Red Gate were the victors then but Flips and Slips have both been looking very good recently and will fancy their chances at progressing to the final.
Botchico managed to pick up a win in last month’s Fatal-4-Way that also involved ‘TV’s Umar Mohmmed, Duke Cannon and Air Myles. He did this by pinning the Asian Sensation, whether he was aware of it or not is a debate for another day. Spike Tierney also recently took the man who was Number 1 in the first ever SWN100 list, Taylor Bryden, to the limit in their recent epic for the FCW Junior Heavyweight Championship and he too will be looking to build on this momentum on Friday.
However, the fact remains that Red Gate know how to get the job done against these two and they will do whatever it takes to not only win this match but the titles themselves and cast a dark shadow over the entire FCW Tag Team Division.

FCW Tag Team Championship Eliminator – Glory Hunter Agencies (Umar Mohammed & Sebastian Asher) w/Marcus Hunter vs Game On (Duke Cannon & Nathan North)
The final two teams that will be battling to earn the right to become the inaugural FCW Tag Team Champions are ‘God’s Gift to Professional Wrestling’ Sebastian Asher and ‘The Asian Sensation’ TV’s Umar Mohammed who will be taking on ‘The Natural 20’ Duke Cannon and Nathan North.
Game On will obviously know that they have to deal with Marcus ‘The Glory’ Hunter being at ringside but will now also have to deal with the addition of a Security Team being present too due to ‘Retro’ Randy Valentine’s recent attacks on Sebastian Asher and Marcus himself. With all of these extra bodies at ringside it will be an uphill battle for Duke and Nathan but they will be hoping that their strategy and teamwork will see them through to the final.
*update: Fair City Wrestling have since confirmed that Game On are unable to compete with Glory Hunter Agencies moving into the triple threat final*

Randy’s Retrospective with Dickie Divers and Ian Ambrose
Speaking of Randy Valentine, his hit talk show is back for another episode and this time we have two guests who certainly didn’t see eye to eye at the last FCW event.
‘The Infamous’ Ian Ambrose had come out to spread some Christmas cheer with the help of his manager Skully who wanted to give him a present for his strong showing back at the Fair City Rumble.
The people he eliminated included Dickie Divers who was less than impressed with the pair. A war of words ended with Ambrose throwing Divers over the top rope once again and Randy Valentine will have his hands full making sure this doesn’t get out of hand on his Retrospective.

Caleb Valhalla vs Aspen Faith
While he might still be unpinned in FCW, Caleb Valhalla is no longer the FCW Champion. This is thanks to Euan G. Mackie cashing in his Game Changer Briefcase during Valhalla’s defence against Johnny Lions last month. By doing so her turned the match into a Triple Threat and was able to defeat Lions to capture the Championship away from ‘The Mighty’.
There are no rematch clauses in FCW and Mackie has declared that until the former Champion has proved to him that he has earned a title shot he will not receive one. Caleb Valhalla is now in a must win match every time he steps into the ring if he is going to reclaim the title he never lost but his first obstacle could not be any tougher in the form of Aspen Faith.
The ‘Lost Boy’ is on a high after capturing the Undisputed WrestleZone Championship last month and will be looking to continue that momentum on Friday in what could very well be match of the night. As Big E would say, it’s going to be two men slapping meat!

FCW Women’s Championship – Debbie Dahmer (c) vs Brodie Adler
Friday night present’s Debbie Dahmer with arguably her toughest Championship defence to date when she will be standing across the ring from ‘The Dynamite’ Brodie Adler. The challenger has been on an absolute tear during the past year, unlocking a side of herself that nobody had seen before and she has gone from strength to strength since.
Dahmer herself had a very impressive 2022 with one of the best matches of the year in my opinion when she retained against Emersyn Jayne in September as well as Triple Threat victory over Daisy Jenkins and Moxie Malone in November.
However, she is going to need to use all of her Championship match experience to stop the path of destruction that Brodie is on and walk out of Tulloch with the FCW Women’s Championship.

FCW Heavyweight Championship – Euan G Mackie (c) vs Shady Nattrass
Euan G. Mackie is a very interesting man. He says he cares not for Championships but at the same time he is revelling in the fact because he holds the FCW title, it means that those who want it more than anything such as the likes of Caleb Valhalla and Tom Atlas don’t have it. That is his ultimate victory and the longer he holds on to
it, the better.
Mackie’s first challenger is Shady Nattrass who comes to FCW with a very real threat to the new Champion’s title reign falling at the first hurdle. He has shared the ring with the likes of Grado, BT Gunn, Andy Wild and Randy Valentine to name but a few and he will be aiming to arrive in Perth and take FCW’s top prize immediately.
One thing that Euan G. Mackie always has in his back pocket is his superb ring IQ and he may need all of it, as well as his Neo Paradigm, if he is going to force Caleb Valhalla to continue to chase him for a future title match.
As well as all these matches we will, of course, have the Triple Threat Final of the tournament to crown the first ever FCW Tag Team Champions in what promises to be an amazing match no matter which combination of teams make it through the eliminators. This really is a testament to the emphasis that FCW is putting on its Tag Team Division with the quantity of quality that they have at their disposal.
They are a company that is getting better with every show they put on and if you haven’t already gotten on board the hype train the next stop is in Perth on Friday!
