In June 2019 I wrote a list of the Top 10 female wrestlers in Scotland (this one). A lot has changed in the the wrestling world with many on the list either going on to WWE, or decide to call it a day. In fact, from the 2019 list, 3 have went on to not only sign with WWE but hold championship gold, and at least 2 has put their career on hold.

So that gives me a great excuse to update the list and talk about the current generation of women in Scotland.

10. Daisy Jenkins

  • Hardest Wrestler In Fife

One of the most exciting prospects in Scottish wrestling right now, Daisy Jenkins burst onto the scene in 2021 from Fife Pro Wrestling Asylum (now known as PWR PRO), she has since wrestled all over the world, and grabbing opportunities with both hands. Recently wrestling in Dubai and ticking off countries at a rapid rate, during that time Daisy has appeared on the WWE Network on ICW Fight Club, and competed in IMPACT Wrestling’s recent Gut Check, placing in the top 10.

9. Debbie Dahmer

  • 1x Fair City Wrestling Women’s Champion

After an extended hiatus, Debbie returned to the ring, enjoyed a 10 month reign as FCW Women’s Champion recently and exploded with character, whether it’s happy go lucky Debbie at Fair City Wrestling, the slightly madcap half of The Double D’s in Discovery Wrestling with Dickie Divers, or the dastardly Denise in Insane Championship Wrestling, you’re definitely going to left with a memory of Debbie Dahmer’s shenanigans.

8. Sirena Rose

  • 2x Fair City Wrestling Women’s Champion
  • 4x World Wide Wrestling League Women’s Champion
  • 1x Women of Reckless Champion
  • 1x Scottish School of Wrestling Diamonds Champion

The veteran, a near 20 year career with a couple of short retirements within that. Rose continues to win titles whether on her own savvy or via an ensemble of alliances she has gathered over the years like Cirque du Lit. The inaugural FCW Women’s Champion and Women of Reckless Champion, Rose continues to etch her name in the Scottish wrestling history books.

7. Moxie Malone

  • 1x Iron Girders Pro Wrestling King of the Fling Champion

SWN readers voted that Moxie Malone would be the one to watch in 2023 and she has done nothing but prove them right. The inaugural and still reigning Iron Girders Pro Wrestling King of the Fling Champion, has survived against multiple challengers with every defence. ‘Malone ‘The Misfit’ has also broke out in Insane Championship Wrestling as part of The Manifesto, where she aims to become the next ICW Women’s World Champion at Fear & Loathing against Rhio.

6. Brodie Adler

  • 1x World Wide Wrestling League Women’s Champion
  • 1x Fair City Wrestling Women’s Champion
  • 1x Grassroots Women’s Internet Champion

‘Dynamite’ Brodie Adler was ignited in 2019, and despite a pandemic trying to extinguish that fire, Adler came back swinging and has picked up the accolades that come with that. Along with her championship wins, Adler continues to wreck havoc up in the far North for Combat League Wrestling, battering anyone that walks into her path.

  • 3x World Wide Wrestling League Women’s Champion
  • 1x Fair City Wrestling Women’s Champion
  • 1x Pro2 Wrestling Belle’s Champion
  • 1x Upbrawl Championship Wrestling Women’s Champion

‘Wrestlebeech’ herself, Emily Hayden has had a creative spark since the last time I put fingers to keyboard, dropping in at number 6 in 2019. Earlier in 2023 Hayden went on to hold four championships at the same time, a rare feat. Hayden has made appearances on the WWE Network via ICW Fight Club, and continues to evolve her character and in ring style to make her an unpredictable quantity as she begins to refer to herself as ‘The Final Girl of Professional Wrestling’.

Honourable Mentions:

Ellie Armstrong: In my opinion, ‘The Plant Based Powerhouse’ is a superstar waiting to happen. She has ‘it’, deceptively agile, charismatic, and fast on her way to becoming a must see on shows.

Ashley Vega: Undeniable Ashley Vega just misses out on a top 10 spot on this list again by the narrowest of margins. Vega has the character put together but is still waiting to finally have her hands on some gold.

Rubi Roberts: It’s only a matter of time before Rubi Roberts makes it into this top 10. Another that recently participated in the IMPACT Wrestling Gut Check, Roberts has been making an impact in Europe through the Scandinavian wrestling promotions including a bloody bout with Lexi Luxx that drew a lot of eyes on ‘The Basic Bitch Slayer’.

Nicole Jasmin: It’s early days for Nicole Jasmin but it hasn’t stopped her showing her face on both sides of the border grinding for opportunities. The dream chaser isn’t afraid to get stuck in with any opponent.

Hera: A new kid on the block, Hera is like nothing we’ve seen in Scottish wrestling recently. The terrifying powerhouse is ready to lift and throw opponents with ease. She could be a force to reckon with in the near future.
