It’s been a busy Easter weekend of wrestling, there was a show or two over across the pond but as a little bonus. The purple app dinged and Iron Girders Pro Wrestling were live at the Gallowgate for IGPW19. Hot off the heels of their third anniversary event, Iron Girders Pro Wrestling looked to continue the momentum with another top line up of wrestling action.

Katt Wolfe welcomed the VIPs and general admission…ers(?) to proceedings to get the main show started.

UEWA European Heavyweight Championship – BT Gunn defeated Chris Kingston w/Big Mick by pinfall to retain the UEWA European Heavyweight Championship.

The quote-unquote weasel of Moxie’s Crew, Chris Kingston took up the open challenge from BT Gunn for a crack at the UEWA European Heavyweight Championship. Flanked by Big Mick, who failed in his attempt in March.

Gunn schooled Kingston in the early going, flinging strikes and sending his opponent all over the ring, it took the intervention of Mick to finally give the tactical turtleneck wearing Kingston the upper hand. His exuberance to celebrate the feat almost lost it as quick as it came but Moxie’s Crew worked overtime to return the momentum into the camp of Chris Kingston.

Referee Archie Williams was sent around the houses trying to keep an eye on the action to stop any shenanigans but Big Mick got in his digs to keep BT on the back foot. A missed roundhouse kick almost saw a new UEWA European Heavyweight Champion with a roll up but Gunn kicked out and landed a spear to keep The Weasel out for the count.

A lovely opening match, Mick and Kingston tried to take the short cuts but Gunn’s veteran wealth of experience to dive onto openings and snatch the win was great. It seems like BT Gunn is working his way through Moxie Malone’s minions, and I am not opposed to an endgame of The Oddity versus The Misfit sooner than later.

Before the next match Tommy Lockhart got on the microphone… however due to the wisdom of Twitch the audio was cut on the replay so I got not one word of it. Judging from results I’ve assumed it’s finding out Kez Evans was unable to compete due to the injury to the knee from IGPW18 as he entered with a paramedic trying to send him to the back and with a crutch holding him steady.

Prince Levi arrived and kicked the crutch away from Kez which sent Lockhart after him as the sound finally returned.

Prince Levi defeated Tommy Lockhart by pinfall.

The action started hot with Tommy meeting Levi mid-springboard for a dual while they both balanced on the second rope which was tremendous. Lockhart tried to bop and bang but Levi managed to take control and impose his will over Tommy Lockhart, aiming his attacks to the mid-section.

Any fight back was met with an answer from the former IGPW Champion, as Prince Levi tried to drive the air out of the lungs of Tommy Lockhart and keep him grounded.

An errant kick allowed Tommy to evade the blow to gather momentum, but his flurry of offense, including a graceful springboard European uppercut, was shut off on the top turnbuckle with Levi powering Lockhart overhead with a superplex to lay out both men.

The battle carried on, with Levi getting more erratic, wildly trying to attack Lockhart, clawing at Tommy to regain control. Lockhart dodged a double foot stomp with a headbutt laying out Levi. Kez Evans returned in an attempt to convince Tommy to us the crutch but the distraction allowed the recovery of Prince Levi to land the double foot stomp and collect the winner’s purse.

Once again Kez Evans, with the guise of innocence, inserted himself into Tommy Lockhart’s business and it has cost him another tick in the win column. The disentation is rife and I can’t imagine the explosion in the Gallowgate when this all comes to a head. The respect that Lockhart holds for Evans can only extend so far but with each passing event and with the incidents starting to pile up it’s only a matter of who will pull the trigger.

Another case of two excellent wrestlers having a great match. The confidence and growth of Tommy Lockhart is still evident with every match as he fully morphs into the greatest showman of Iron Girders Pro Wrestling. If this guy isn’t holding gold by the end of 2025 then I would be shocked.

I love how the longer a match continues, how tense Prince Levi becomes. It’s like with every growing frustration he has to try and maintain some sort of neutral state so that he doesn’t just fly off the handle but you can see his muscles tightening and fists clenching to keep some sort of control but the eyes get wider and wider.

All I’m saying is maybe we need another Lock In to let Prince Levi off the leash.

Angel Hayze defeated Eddie Castle by pinfall.

A nice little bit of continuation, at IGPW18 we saw Prince Levi try a bit of misogyny to get under the skin of his female opponent before being rightly humbled. Eddie Castle, after enduring the classic “if you hate Eddie Castle clap your hands” patter was all business. He knew what Angel Hayze can do, and knocking off one former IGPW Champion is one thing, but a second in as many months could see her jump the line into contention.

Though that didn’t stop a wee pat on the head when Castle placed Hayze onto the top turnbuckle, but that was less about her being a woman, but it was a rare case of Eddie Castle being more physically imposing against an opponent. Allowing him to stretch his power game over his usual sneaky tactics.

Hayze tried to pick up the pace but Castle was having none of it, driving Angel to the match and wearing down The Young Lioness with headlocks, using his additional leverage and weight to keep the pressure on her with hard Irish Whips into the corner torturing the spine for the former Interpromotional Champion.

A sidewalk slam was countered into a headscissor to send Castle’s legs to jelly with him just managing to kick out of high flying top rope crossbody. But Angel’s superkick to neckbreaker driver combo managed to keep Eddie Castle down for the three.

Another hard fought win for Angel Hayze in Iron Girders Pro Wrestling. Since losing against Luke Kyro at Halloween she has been undefeated with wins over former King of the Fling and Interpromotional Champion Moxie Malone, and former IGPW Champions Prince Levi and Eddie Castle, with an additional win over the current IGPW Champion Luke Kyro in tag team action has her stock at an all time high in the Parkhead promotion.

Eddie Castle continues to be dependable and wholly underrated as he continues to produce solid performances every show.

PWE Tag Team Championship Tournament – Quarter Final – KoE (Adam King & Marcus King) defeated The Studley Boyz (Robbie ‘Robbie Ray Studley’ Cardwell & Gabriel ‘Gabe-Von Studley’ Saul) by pinfall to advance.

Hailing from Studleyville, Robbie Ray Studley and Gabe-Von Studley tried to add a little light hearted fun for the second half opener but after fetching a table KoE went onto the attack, assaulting Saul and Cardwell before dispatching the table to the boos of the crowd.

The fun and games were over early on but KoE found themselves dragged into the shenanigans with Adam only avoiding finding out “wassup” thanks to some timely interference from his brother Marcus.

The sheer gall of Cardwell and Saul getting under the skin of KoE had a furious Marcus even needing Adam to pull him away from laying into Gabriel Saul in the corner to avoid disqualification. The duo took their turn getting their shots at Saul, with an attempt to tag in Cardwell missed thanks to Adam King dropping Robbie off the apron.

Gabriel Saul finally managed to bring Robbie Ray into the fold, a makeshift 3D to Marcus almost had it but Adam King slammed Cardwell onto the pin attempt to break it up. The last gasp effort wasn’t enough with Robbie being dispatched to the outside and a tandem powerbomb to Gabriel Saul saw KoE move onto the semifinals.

The attempt at mind games from The Studley’s may’ve backfired as the KoE brothers weren’t there to hang around, they steam rolled the new team on the block. After seeing that it would be hard not to put KoE in as the heavy favourites. My only concern would be for their next round opponents, Tall ‘N’ Tiny, who might have to go back to the drawing board if they had any inkling that any fun will be had against whomever they were due to face with Adam and Marcus King grabbing the tournament by the scruff of the neck.

Robbie and Gabriel will live to fight another day , I mean they came in with a solid plan to rattle their more tenured opponents but I don’t think even they expected the violence that KoE had in mind as they dropped the bombshell onto the competition with unfiltered domination.

That’s three of the four teams decided for the semi finals then and you have two established and well regarded teams along with the underdogs. I have no idea where this is going, with the field getting narrower, it’s also still wide open which makes the brackets all the more interesting.

IGPW King of the Fling Championship – Bingo Brawl – RABU defeated Jordan Wolff, Branagan, and Archie Williams to retain the IGPW King of the Fling Championship.

An overwhelming majority selected RABU to defend the IGPW King of the Fling, included in that majority was his own tag team partner Mikey Devine. Michael selected three balls from his bingo ball cage thingy to draw “the man of a thousand holds, but only one towel” (RABU’s words, not mine so don’t hurt me Mr Branagan sir), referee Archie Williams (who had to remove his glasses for an automatic disadvantage), and a ball-less Jordan Wolff inserted himself into the contest before being donked with a microphone from RABU for his interuption.

Branagan dispatched Archie Williams but not before he was tossed about via the hip which left The House at the mercy of two intruders after Casino Brutale’s King of the Fling Championship. Which is almost the plot of Home Alone.

Wolff and Branagan eventually broke down which left Wolff open to be charged out by RABU for a final two. The lack of additional moving bodies allowed Branagan to focus all his joint bending torturey to RABU as they fought over the top rope and onto the apron.

RABU proceeded to cave the chest of Branagan with two loud chops before delivering a snap suplex to send Branagan crashing to the floor, snapping off the edge of the apron for a Brutale finish.

This was a little bit of fun. We’ve had a couple Bingo Brawls now and I think increasing the numbers could help heighten the jeopardy. I love the Brutale lads but with their progression into the PWE Tag Team Championship tournament I would be interested to see if any potential opponents use the King of the Fling environment to break the spirit of Mikey and RABU by providing the assist to relieve them of the gold.

Katt Wolfe continued the monthly most random raffle in British wrestling, posters, pops, and prosecco. I swear one time there will be a slab of ham. Mother Wolfe scalded Robbie Cardwell for littering the ring with discarded raffle tickets, Katt is a great natural host for these shows.

The audio cut out on the Twitch stream, they didn’t want me to listen to Vibes with Luke Kyro. A long silence ensued as the IGPW Champion sat in his yellow bean bag chair and I just had to sit and think, if I sat on that chair then I wouldn’t be able to get up without making all manner of emasculating sounds. Five minutes passed with what looked like Luke Kyro declaring himself the winner over his scheduled opponent Rampage Brown.

The lights started flashing, and Craig Anthony arrived. The sound returned as he entered the ring so Twitch wanted me to hear every word from The Natural, declaring that he felt the vibes and that is the title coming home with him.

IGPW Championship – Luke Kyro defeated Craig Anthony by pinfall to retain the IGPW Championship.

Kyro immediately rushed towards Anthony but it was well scouted with Craig bombarding the champion in the early going, sending Kyro flying off the second rope with a hurricanrana before diving through the ropes to not give Kyro a second of respite.

Luke conveniently fell into the ropes to stop a springboard attempt to finally give him some sort of opening for offense. Kyro jumped onto the chance, settling into his pace, making sure to aim towards the back of Anthony, not only to assist with the Kyroscope twist but if there’s any ring rust then the back is a prime spot to break down.

Anthony kept trying to pick up the pace with an ace roll out of a school boy into a deadlift teardrop suplex but Kyro rolled to the outside before an advantage could be sought. The brawl continued with Luke bringing in a weight plate but his plan was thwarted but still managed to ram Anthony shoulder first into the ring post that had Craig barely return to the ring before Archie Williams’ ten count.

A slingshot spear couldn’t keep Anthony down, who fired back with a torture rack spin out powerbomb with neither man able to get the three. Kyro tried to bring the IGPW Championship into the equation but a fast acting Archie Williams whipped it away but it only allowed Kyro to grab the weight plate and smash it into the face of an oncoming Craig Anthony and finish the job with a Kyroscope to retain.

Not content enough with the victory, Kyro went for another crack with the plate but Craig met him with a low blow and planting him with a Juggernaut Driver to close the night on a happier note for the Iron Girders fans.

An entertaining main event which was a totally different dynamic to the advertised contest. There were some little stumbles from Craig Anthony which played well into him having quite a long layoff between matches and allowed for Luke Kyro to pounce. Luke Kyro is beginning to escalate his cunning plans to keep a grip of the IGPW Championship, and with so many contenders starting to emerge his task is going to get even more difficult as he is set to surpass previous reigns from Eddie Castle and Levi to be noted as the longest reigning IGPW Championship. Craig gave a great account of himself and I hope this is the first of many appearances from The Natural going forward.

An easy watch, all the matches provided something to drive everything forward as the Iron Girders shows continue to deliver. Unlike last month I didn’t feel like anything specific was missing with the changes made enhancing an already high quality match card.

The show is still currently available to replay on Twitch here, and will appear on YouTube soon.
