Gordo still has a house party going on at The Queen’s Hotel with part two being released on FCW Empire on this edition. Two more matches to take a gander at with the fans filling the seats in Dundee.

Sebastian Asher vs Jay Robin ended in a no contest.

After a delayed start, Jay Robin rushed across the ring for a shotgun dropkick to immediately have Sebastian Asher rattled. A jarring back elbow had Robin stotter but it was soon shaken off to side step Asher to send him crashing to the outside. Jay followed with a senton off the apron to the floor which kept Sebastian Asher grasping for offense.

The dodge from a corner charge face Asher to the opening, hitting a middle dropkick that stopped all the momentum, driving Robin hard into the turnbuckles, and batting away attempts from Jay Robin to break the Sebastian cycle of punishment. Asher took aim at the left knee, before cranking on a headlock. Robin got to his feet to wriggle free and strike with a Pelé Kick that levelled the playing field once more. A count of eight had both men striking back and forth on their feet. A fired up Jay Robin ran a flurry of an attack for a near fall.

Asher grabbed a headlock, with a tornado DDT not quite working out, so instead spiked Jay with a step up DDT instead for another two count. Robin stopped a spear attempt into a grapple of his own to transition into a Twist Of Fate. A near fall left both recovering as Sebastian snapped on a Koji Clutch but Jay Robin got a foot on the bottom rope. Another spear from Asher missed to send him crashing to the outside where the shenanigans begun, Spike Tierney and Duke arrived to surround Robin only to be dragged into a brawl by Sami Sparx and Tom Atlas, which spilled into the ring.

It wouldn’t be a house party without a mass brawl, I imagine. A six man tag challenge was demanded by Sami Sparx against DE.

I’ll go out and say the best Jay Robin match in recent memory, it didn’t mess around with settling into the action, but followed the narrative that Jay hates DE so wasted no time in going for broke against Sebastian Asher. As the match went on it became clear that Sebastian Asher was a bigger threat if he managed to strike as it became more about survival for Robin. Good story and lead into the tease for the future six man showdown.

The main event of the episode was the Nae Mercy contract signing between Ian Ambrose and Patryk Peterski. Ambrose grabbed the microphone first to lay in the insults, talking about Patryk being inferior in every way, and that he is a living legend along with Eddie Devine. Ian signed the contract and dropped the microphone before leaving the ring. Patryk signed on the dotted line and picked up the mic for his retort.

Eddie Devine requested a chance to speak which he was given while Patryk subtly cleared the table. Devine hurled some more insults until he was backed into the corner and lifted for a spinebuster through the wood. Ambrose returned to the ring to get face to face with Peterski as the episode ended.

A hot segment, the crowd bit for the promos, I liked Patryk moving stuff off the table once Eddie Devine started talking like he was aware how it was all going to conclude. Sometimes contract signings can be a bit meh but this furthered things along and it really cemented that organic support Patryk Peterski has garnered in FCW/DAPW. We saw the continued demise in the sanity of Ian Ambrose, who was so desperate to win the Game Changer to then turn around and call it a “gimmick” drives home the delusion that he has created in his own mind.

It was another strong edition of FCW Empire. It had plenty reasons to keep watching for the next chapters of the tale. The match on the show was very good, with the closing segment hitting the right beats to keep the crowd invested.
