Trying to come up with a name for this without aiming it at the person was difficult, until I came across those words from our very own Billy.
So, wrestling Twitter has been blowing up today after some rather disgusting tweets. The person won’t be named because that’s giving him more attention, but you’ll know who he is if you’ve been keeping up with what’s been happening. From being sexist to calling wrestlers out for the style they wrestle, this guy has gone out of his way to be one of the most hated people out there.
This all started when the person said women shouldn’t be wrestling the way they are and should revert to the eye candy role they played essentially any time before around 2013/2014. You may remember the trend that was #GiveDivasAChance, which kickstarted the women’s revolution for wrestling. While the likes of The Four Horsewomen were killing it in America, we here in the UK were treated with talented female athletes such as Sammii Jayne, Viper, Kay Lee Ray, Bea Priestley, Nixon Newell, Nikki Storm, Debbie Sharpe, the list goes on. An endless talent pool of women’s wrestlers makes the UK one of the best places to wrestle. “Wrestling is aimed at men” is perhaps the most ignorant statement I’ve heard for quite some time. How is it though? You see plenty of women attending wrestling shows and rightfully so. Thankfully, the majority of fans enjoy these women for what they can do in the ring as opposed to being used as eye candy.

From what it looks like, this person has been banned from attending shows from a certain promotion (potentially Fight Club: PRO, haven’t read much into this part of the story). Just another reason why FCP are one of the best promotions in the world. Wrestlers such as Jimmy Havoc and even WWE’s Aleister Black have called out the person and have essentially told him to take a look at how he views the world. Apparently, this person thinks Aleister is bland. Obviously not as bad as his comments towards women, but still a completely wrong thing for him to say.
Then there’s his comments towards Ricochet. After Ricochet replied to one of the person’s tweets, he responded by saying he didn’t want to see Ricochet’s endless amount of flips for the 100th time. This is an argument that was a hot topic last year when Ricochet and Will Ospreay had that unforgettable match over in Japan. Many showed praise to the two but others, such as Vader and obviously this person aswell, weren’t as accepting and said that it’s a wrestling match and not a gymnastics routine.

Back to the women now, as he said he would rather see a woman in a strip club than a wrestling ring which is apparently the “right” thing. Fair enough, some women are like that but it’s certainly not how to view them. If it’s what you want, then yes. But don’t say it’s where they belong as opposed to a wrestling ring. There’s some fantastic all-female companies for a reason (Fierce Females, Pro Wrestling: EVE, etc.). These promotions wouldn’t be able to exist if there weren’t enough talented women.
Irrelevant is a term this man enjoys using. Calling some of the most successful wrestlers in the world today irrelevant doesn’t really make sense though. For this, we’re on about the 2017 CZW Tournament of Death winner Jimmy Havoc. When the person called Jimmy irrelevant, many fans responded by mentioning just some of the things he’s done for the wrestling business. From helping to launch PROGRESS into a worldwide phenomenon to the rapturous ovation he got when returning from injury last year, The King of the Goths is anything but irrelevant.

To put it simply, don’t be like him.
